  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a kitten thats about 5-6 months old and i think she is in heat. she is an indoor cat and wants to always go outside. and she crys alot and always walks to the door and everything. I was wondering how long is she in heat for? i want to go have her fixed. and can she get fixed if she already has been in heat once?? i heard that you couldnt but im sure thats not true. .

Cats can be in heat for only a few days, or stay in a constant state of heat until they breed. It's torture - I'd head to the vet ASAP. :) She can be spayed at any time, any age.

5-6 months is a little early, though it's not impossible for her to be in heat. I wish you luck in trying to find an affordable price, but IF you are able to find a vet that is willing to spay her while she is in heat it will definitely cost more. If money is a concern and she is truly already in heat (wouldn't hurt to take her to the vet and check for certain first), then waiting until the heat has passed would save you money.

You'd have to check your area. I know the majority of clinics in my tri-state area have no problem spaying a cat in heat since they are polyestrus, and delaying shows no healthful benefit; some cats will begin to lengthen each estrus cycle for what is believed to be an act of favoring opportunity.

Heavenlyangeleyes07: I should have added before , if your local vet is too costly, ask them specifically about any low-cost s&n clinics, or if they themselves offer low-cost spay days. Check with numerous veterinarians, because not all out there will freely give information that's for the sole benefit of the animals.
