  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Question about an employee.

Alright, my brother @Hammster . This is what the machine had to say. Now, I will ask the machine to answer this from a political perspective, and rephrase this analogy to presidential candidates. I will post the answer when I finish up a Star Trek DS9 episode.

So I rephrased the question to be related to politicians, and the AI did say that if a politician breaks a promise, that he/she should not run, as stated in the last paragraph of the AI's response. :) @Hammster , the machine was right.

That would be a different topic.

The tweet you cited asked, “What would you do?” I answered the question: “Replace her with the toxic screw up we fired 3.5 years ago.”

Regardless of whatever feel about his personal behavior or morals....

What did he screw up?
Well, the easy ones off the top of my head are: failing to replace Obamacare, failing to put together an infrastructure plan, pulling us out of TTP (with no replacement), pulling us out of the Iran deal (with no replacement), mismanaging the covid response, letting his fanbase develop a bunch of oddball conspiracy theories about the vaccine that should’ve been his crowning achievement, and trying to defraud the country about the election so he could steal it.

ETA: filled his administration with grifters, tried to extort an ally for political gain

Well, the easy ones off the top of my head are: failing to replace Obamacare,

You wanted him to do that?

failing to put together an infrastructure plan,

Would it be fair to say...

1. You believe that 15,000 page omnibus bill voted for 3 days after it was put together is in fact an infrastructure bill.

And...

2. Legislators (elected representatives) wrote it.

pulling us out of TTP (with no replacement),

Sorry TTP?

pulling us out of the Iran deal (with no replacement),

Ok.

mismanaging the covid response,

Fair enough, do you think Biden did better?

letting his fanbase develop a bunch of oddball conspiracy theories about the vaccine that should’ve been his crowning achievement,

I don't know if that's really something he should "control" but ok...

and trying to defraud the country about the election so he could steal it.

Fair enough. We probably won't see that trial.

ETA: filled his administration with grifters,

We're still talking about Trump not Biden?

tried to extort an ally for political gain

Threatening to withhold funds unless you get something personally out of it is extortion huh?

You are such geek.

(I say that after just watching a "documentary" about Starfleet uniforms)

You wanted him to do that?

No, but it was one of his big promises.

Would it be fair to say...

2. Legislators (elected representatives) wrote it.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to.

Sorry TTP?

Typo. That should have been TPP, the Trans Pacific Partnership.

Fair enough, do you think Biden did better?

I do. It wasn’t perfect, and they ran things at different phases of the pandemic, so it’s not a 1:1 comparison, but Trump’s initial approach towards distributing supplies was to just stand back and let the states sort it out for themselves, which is wildly stupid. Biden actually used his powers to get vaccines distributed quickly.

I don't know if that's really something he should "control" but ok...
It’s not something he could control, but it’s absolutely something he could’ve influenced.

We're still talking about Trump not Biden?

Yep. There’s not really any comparison between the two with regards to the number of high level officials who were either indicted or had their tenures marred by some kind of scandal.

Threatening to withhold funds unless you get something personally out of it is extortion huh?
Eh, it was the best word i could come up with while sitting on the toilet. I’m open to alternatives.

Ahh, I know this is referring to politicians, but I will plug this into the AI, and see what is will say, just as a little experiment. :)
I don’t mean this rudely, but don’t you have an option generated by Alex? It seems AI is your go to for everything.

What do you think? Not what a machine thinks. I’d really be interested.

Unless thereis a titanic shift that makes third parties viable it is either him or Kamala that is getting the job referenced.
“We have an employee that we hired 3.5 years ago”. Not “We had an employee that was let go 3.5 years ago”.

You’re correct. So you want to get rid of the current employee and replace with a past one. Sounds good.

If I were her employer I’d ask to see her action plan for going forward before I made any decision.

But if there is no one else appointable it would be sensible to go with if she has the right qualifications and experience.
