A majority of the lyrics on Innuendo were not written by him. He just happened to read the lyrics and adopted them as his own.

The only two songs on the album written by Freddie were "I'm Going Slightly Mad" and "Delilah".
I did not know that... Cool! His vocals on Who Wants to Live Forever are just heart wrenching! That song is one that if you have ever loved and lost, it'll tear you up.

One of my all time favorite songs...'Who Wants To Live Forever'

Did you know that Freddy wrote that song about his life? When he wrote Innuendo, he knew he was dieing. I think that is why Innuendo is such a powerful album.

Two points here:
1) It wasn't on Innuendo - it was on A Kind of Magic (which was basically the Highlander soundtrack)
2) Brian May wrote it, not Freddie Mercury

Still, it's one of my favourite Queen songs. The line "ooohhhhh when love must time" gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. I've heard the song sung by other people, but nobody manages to deliver that line the way that Freddie did.

That is a Great Song...actually,all jokes aside,He did have one heckuva voice...but what does the line 'When love must time',mean ?? Innuendo was a very good album.
trivia time-what was 'ready' Freddie's real last name ?

Where did you get that idea? It's, for the main part, incorrect. Queen has always worked together on the majority of their songs, so while a few of them were written single handedly by one member, more often than not, the songs were worked on by 2, 3, or the whole band.

Here's the track list for Innuendo:
  1. "Innuendo" (Mercury/Taylor) - 5:29
  2. "I'm Going Slightly Mad" (Mercury) - 4:22
  3. "Headlong" (May) - 4:39
  4. "I Can't Live with You" (May) - 4:35
  5. "Don't Try So Hard" (Mercury) - 3:39
  6. "Ride the Wild Wind" (Taylor) - 4:41
  7. "All God's People" (Mercury/Mike Moran) - 4:19
  8. "These Are the Days of Our Lives" (Taylor) - 4:12
  9. "Delilah" (Mercury) - 3:32
  10. "The Hitman" (Queen) - 4:52
  11. "Bijou" (May/Mercury) - 3:36
  12. "The Show Must Go On" (Queen) - 4:24
I don't know where you got the idea that these songs weren't written by him.

Farrokh Bulsara was his real name.

"When love must die", not time. :p
My favorite song of all time, my favorite actor of all time, and my favorite movie of all time. :D

Who Wants To Live Forever said:
wwtlf.jpg

There's no time for us
There's no place for us
What is this thing that builds our dreams
Yet slips away from us

Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever . . . . . ?
Oh ooo oh

There's no chance for us
It's all decided for us
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us

Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
Ooh

Who dares to love forever
Oh oo woh, when love must die

But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever
And we can love forever
Forever is our today

Who wants to live forever
Who wants to live forever
Forever is our today
Who waits forever anyway ?

I hear that Bryan May and the boys are regrouping and coming back into the studio with a new lead vocalist. Frankly, I'm glad, because Brian was a strong force in the band in the early years, and Queen could still a strong impact on music today.

:doh:I know. I don't know how I made that mistake, it's not even a simple misspelling - it's completely the wrong word.

Serves me right for not reading my post once I'd submitted it.

Queen rocks anybody who says otherwise should seek help immediately lol. Freddie Mercury was one of the best vocalists ever and really is what made Queen, well Queen. RIP Fred. :)
Freddie was the man!

They have been back for quite some time now... only Brian and Roger though. John wanted nothing to do with the regrouping as he saw Queen as a 4 piece band, and wouldn't accept a substitute for Freddie.

Paul Rogers sang on the tour last year. I had the honor of finally seeing my favorite band in concert, even if it's a shadow of what they once were. I personally didn't care for Rogers style and don't have very high expectations for the new album coming out. He's no Freddie.

Some interesting news though. Brian, Roger, AND John are working on a movie project about Freddie, and they want none other than Johnny Depp to play Mercury. I give the decision two very high thumbs up. I really hope he chooses to do it. :)

Actually, Depp's research that he puts into characters and his great skills might make that an awesome movie. Can't think of a better candidate, can you?

The only set back I could see with Depp playing Mercury is that Mercury was Indian... Minor drawback, but still... ;)
