Hmm.. tough question. I have 2 pairs of sandals (one dressy, one casual), 1 pair of sneakers/athletic shoes, 3 pairs of slippers, and a pair of bathroom/shower shoes. So in total: 7.

And yes the slippers and bathroom shoes count, here in Japan.

Next question: Do you prefer to take your shoes off (and change to slippers or socks) indoors?
