I think the Mississippi came later on -- much later on.

But even if it didn't, you can't see what happened?

The waters that etched the Mississippi are now elsewhere in the solar system.

But the channel it etched into the ground filled up with water over time.

I did see something once that said Hitler was planning a huge underground base under Antarctica. It was supposed to be like a small underground city. It was so he could strike in any direction around the southern hemisphere. Pretty sure he didn't do it but I believe he could have dreamed something like that up. I think it was another one of those "History Channel" videos.

It wouldn't surprise me if people were there at one time. The ice caps have receded and expanded many times over the millennia.
