  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1. Having read Christopher Dunn's book, I think this video presents a poor presentation of the Power Plant Theory.

2. We should not be so presumptions to think we can judge another civilization's technology and aspirations by our own.

3. The GP is even more amazing than this video would have you believe, in its mathematics and geometry.

...And here I thought they might have been built to give ancient Hebrews something to do.

I mean, according to the OP video, one of those pyramids did have something like... 144,000 stones or something.

Obviously, pyramids were built as lie-attracting devices.

As I said: We should not be so presumptuous as to think we can judge another civilization's technology and aspirations by our own.

No not just by our own. But for sure we can put them in the context of what we know from many different civilizations.

But all those many different civilizations had the same basic archetypes in their mythologies.... So whatever it was they observed, it became their entire way of life to emulate what they saw..... Take away the myth from ancient civilizations and you are left with nothing, it was their entire way of life....

Is ancient Egypt so utterly divorced and distinct from the western cultural heritage? I dont think so.

Ancients built high structures for the gods.
Powers derived are probably super natural.
Most likely not of God (YHWH) though...
New Age spiritualistic suggestion is popular.
They don't want us to believe YHWH is God most high and John 3:16.

And such is why at the level of the archetype they all share the exact same similarities.....

They all witnessed the same chaotic events which triggered all their mythologies...

So why are their mythologies different?

At the level of the archetype they are not. For the same reason if I and another person witness an event, tell it to others, who tell it to others, who tell it to others..... the stories you will be told will have only a basic similarity to what I and the other person originally told..... now multiply that over thousands of years and thousands of people instead of just a few days or hours and a few people.....

Can you give an example of a single archetype myth to support your claim? We are talking about any single event which is common across every culture.

I don't know if you can generalize to every culture, but there are many that are consistent across a majority of cultures.

I bet you can't give an example beyond everything having come into existence.

Edit: I recognise there are many stories of local floods, but they're local floods and the story lines are different.

What about the idea of a world tree?
