Will I give you a little advice. Don't. I'm really tired of people putting trash on my window, tracs included. I'm tired of having someone touching my windows leaving their finger prints on my car. Anyways you are just adding to the litter on the side of the road.

I think you might runn afoul with the postal service for leaving them in a box. Do you really think people are going to really read them. It will end up in the trash just like the junk mail that we get.

as to mailboxes you cant do that. I believe there is a law against that.
As to putting on cars go for it.
If you feel God calling you to speak to someone or to leave a tract somewhere, do it. Of course you might offend someone, but who would you rather offend Man?......
or God?......

Amen hiumble1 Just because some may be thrown not all will. Most people do not like to litter and will not throw tracts on the ground. You can't put them in mail boxes it is a fedral offence but you can put them in the paper boxes where people get their weekly newspapers.
For more places to use tracts check out my why use tracts topic. God bless. :)

I agree. Don't do it. For one thing, no one reads the stuff on car windows. People toss them aside with a lot of annoyance. Second, this is not a good witnessing tactic. Actually, this isn't witnessing at all. It's more like advertising, and that's how people will look at it.

why isn't it a witnessing tactic?...
one person may toss it... another will come along and pick it up wondering what it is, and if written well can give the truth and plant a seed.
I have had people who I have given tracts to, take them and rip them up right in my face and throw it on the ground... They are not offended by having someone put something on their window they are offended by the message.
Again, Never let anyone tell you not to do it, better to be persecuted (even by christians, which happens alot) and give someone/anyone the truth than not at all.

JTLauder. There is no way for you to know no one reads the things on car windows. I or my wife have seen them do this several times. All of which were tracts that we had put there. God bless. :)

Very true. Peple will be offended at the gospel. And again I need to point out I am not promoting that we just use tracts. I am just saying they need to be used in our witnessing arsenal. 2 people die each second and with very limited number of Christians sharing their faith we need to do all that we can to get out the message. God bless. :)

If you leave something on the windshield, make it something they think they can gain from... an invitation to a concert, or free food, car wash, or a speaker with an intriguing topic, a film showing, a candidate debate.

Getting a tract says to me "I have the truth and you don't" ... although I do know they're effective, and they're a manageably-sized source of information.

If you have a little more money, go to the dollar store and get promise books... leave them in waiting rooms, bathrooms, and lobbies. .. with a note inside "take this home if you'd like."

Check the regulations of your city.ordinances SURPRIZE!!! You could get a fine or a ticket for the trac that is on the ground if your chuces name is on it. Speaking from experiance here. Now if you got one of those cool folded in half five dollar tracts they are fun to plant on the floor at the mall. People get real excited and read them then they throw them back on the ground then someone else picks it up and this goes on till someone keeps it and you put out another. Who said witnessing can't be fun

...and then, do you sit behind a fern with a camera?

If we look at nonbelievers with respect, and consider what they might be trying to gain in their lives, then it will help us figure out the approach in what to offer them.

One of the times I have heard of people being very receptive-- during a week of home repairs in a neighborhood, teens would ask individuals if they wanted prayer for anything.

A lot of people have an understanding of Christianity, but have left it behind. Assuming they know a little, you can build on that. They probably already think of Christianity as a tiny neglected part of themselves.

I thought I revisit this site I went to a new church. Went to it because it had just open. I had one of tose sunscreen in the front window and i put in Large letter this "Please No Tracts on Windows" I that the message was clear I also left the driver side wind crack down an hour and halve later i return to the car and found the front seat covered with tracts. I also saw one of the tract passer nearby I called him over and asked him what the sign said he read it back to me. I then asked him what it means. he told me I opened up the front door and had him remove the tracts off the front seat. And thanked him for knowing what the sign said and means. Which now means I'll have to modify the sign so it reads "Please No tracts on Windows or Front Seat"

Are you ashamed of Christ?
Of his message?
We mock those who share their faith openly, What do we do? Do we Openly share our faith?
I have had those mock me for sharing my my faith openly who were 'christians' When asked what they do to share their faith, nothing. then continue to close your mouth, or else open it (obey his command if you are his).
Who owns the things you have in your life are they yours or Gods.
If I were you I would take those tracts that are left on your window or on you front seat and pass them along to others who might need them.

I used to read tracts as a nonchristian. it isn't a total waste.

If even one person is helped to heaven from a million tracts thrown away, it's worth it to me.

thanks for the heads up. I did wonder if sometimes that is considered littering.

and for those who do put tracts on car windows, you have to be aware of "soliciting" in store's parking lots, some places won't let you do that, I think...

I personally find it sad that we have relegated evangelism down to flyer-making.

Why is it sad? After all if someone gets saved by them then shouldn't we rejoice?

Here is something to think about, the Bible is printed, in a way it is one big gospel tract. Is it sad that the scriptures is used for evangelism?

I like to use Scripture booklets myself.

World Missionary Press has some very tasteful scripture booklets free for anybody worldwide, and they provide booklets by the truckloads to many established missionaries worldwide, at http://www.wmpress.org/bksavail.shtml I also use some tasteful tracts some from Way of the Master ministry, the gospel presentation is clear.

the written word is great form of communication, the bible is also written as willo mentions
