I understand the protests against Trump, but we need to look at the bigger picture. The head of the snake is 5,000 miles away, in Moscow. He has a plan to divide Europe and weaken the United States, and he is winning. Brexit, Trump, and then Marine Le Pen and Frauke Petry. Right wing nationalism in the West will weaken historic alliances that would protect the Baltics from the Russians.

Trump was vulnerable after his 2004 bankruptcy and he depended on investment from Russian oligarchs connected to Putin. He is Putin's man. We now have a puppet President-Elect who is going to allow Putin to invade Eastern Europe. I don't want to hear one word about patriotism from Republicans after this. The America I know defended Europe in two world wars, not because we had to, but because it was the right thing to do.

Eryk, Just for clarification:

Brexit was a bad thing?

And PUTIN is our enemy?

And there is NO current puppet President?

And the candidate ev'ry one thought was a shoe-in, but shocked ev'ry one by losing, ISN'T a puppet?

Europe may be better off if it has to choose between weakening economically or continuing to reinforce the monolith until an eventual collapse.

>The America I know defended Europe in two world wars, not because we had to, but because it was the right thing to do.

And why shouldn't we do it again?

and in turn we were saddled with the UN.

And the UN ain't a friend of man nor beast.

Somebody needs to loosen those ever-growing and ever-tightening tentacles.

Better Moscow than Brussels. As far as American blood being spent to "defend" Europe, I think we've finally learned our lesson.

We won't be fooled three times.

Better Moscow than Brussels, why?

Learned your lesson? Are you saying that the US should not have got involved in WW2?

yes, it will. but the Baltics are the least of the problems to come.

we all have our choices to make, and when we're up against a wall those choices are the most important ones.
Nevertheless, even this choice was the lesser of two evils in the long run.

it's not a question of "if" but one of "when" it happens.
and right now it's overdue.

.

Back off with that warmongering west propaganda.

If only you knew something of Vladimir Putin.

Also cut out the crap about WW2,

West and Russia were allies in defeating an enemy.

Russia paying the heaviest price,
At least 27,000, 000 dead.

I recieved an sms with picture, guess what, it was a picture of a sign where it said,

"All Americans must be accomanied by an adult."

I do not agree with it completely,
but I have to wonder sometimes.

Links in the Slate article.

Vladimir Putin has a plan for destroying the West, and it looks a lot like Donald Trump.

“In certain countries, Russian influence has become so pervasive and endemic that it has challenged national stability as well as a country’s Western orientation and Euro-Atlantic stability.

"Governments such as those in Hungary and Greece "openly sympathize" with Putin. The result is that there is a substantial 'fifth column' in western and central Europe which weakens our response to Russian aggression."

Russia has 'playbook' for covert influence in Eastern Europe
