  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yeah. That's what I'd like to know. I mean, that's reall mean. Why wouldn't you want others to know about Jesus?

Well, I will say that I don't like it even though I have never read it.

Why I hear you ask?

I once went into this church for the very first time ever, and they were running a program based on the book, "the purpose driven life".

At the end of the service, a couple of people were pushing me to buy this book and commit to regular meetings based on this book. At that particular time, they had just started these study sessions based on the first couple of chapters, and I was told that I could easily join them, as they only had begun.

I was taken aback by coming into a church for the very first time and being given the hard sell to join up group study sessions and buy a book.

Instantly, I didn't think much of this book, and I'm not interested in reading it. I just figured if this is how the book inspired people to act, then it wasn't anything of any "God" that I wanted to know.

I have read it twice the second time being with another. I think there is a lot there. Although sometimes it seems as if the reflections on what the scriptures mean..are simply, that, reflections by its author..nonetheless, they are good ones. I think why this book has worked for many is that it explains what it means to be a Christian in simple and non-judgmental words. It appeals to the yearning of the human heart. And it works for both those who are new Christians as well as those who are in need of a fresh and enlivening approach. And it can be helpful in setting goals in our own spiritual life and service to others.

Hmm, well, first of all:

1.Starting to wonder about some folks going over and brainwashing other nations/and or using religion as a tool to manipulate the masses, while folks like Pat Robertson 'G' (steal) the wealth in they mines

2. "Heathens" need to decide for themselves-unless they Satanists, then they need much, much help. LOL

See above post. And I'm not being mean. I feel sorry for anyone who's different in a Christ-centered Western society. :(
