  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Strongbow has been mentioned before...I'll have to try it.

Today I'm having Samuel Adams and after a few sips I can say the hype is true. I normally buy ale with the exception of Zubr the Polish larger, but this beer is really good, no chemical aftertaste like most largers.

 I agree, justified hype! Good stuff. :)

I won an unsmoked Medico pipe on eBay a few weeks back but didn't get a chance to smoke until a few days ago. I hadn't smoked for a few weeks so light it up and man, it's a sweet smoker, excellent buy for $10 bucks.

A friend of mine just got back from touring the Wild Turkey Distillery in Kentucky...she brought me back a bottle.

Wild Turkey Bourbon

Before I stopped drinking I once shared a bottle of that on a flight from Tokyo to Houston with a Marine who was coming back from Okinawa.

I passed out cold.

Without using google...who wrote this...

“Whenever the devil harasses you, seek the company of men or drink more, or joke and talk nonsense, or do some other merry thing. Sometimes we must drink more, sport, recreate ourselves, and even sin a little to spite the devil, so that we leave him no place for troubling our consciences with trifles. We are conquered if we try too conscientiously not to sin at all. So when the devil says to you: do not drink, answer him: I will drink, and right freely, just because you tell me not to.”

I would guess Luther...

Any good recommendations on tea?

Today I had basil tea with honey, it was good, a little sweet but good. I normally drink Rooibos, Earl Gray, Genmaicha (green with toasted brown rice) and Irish Breakfast.

rum-metusalem-629.jpg

I bought this Rum at Bevmo today for $35 bucks, a splurge for me during this obama depression.

First impressions, not disappointed, very smooth neat. I tried a little bit neat, but then I poured more on the rocks as I drink most of my hard booze this way. Very smooth, nice buzz after a short while. Flavors of vanilla, oak, butter, molasses, spices. Overall a solid purchase.
