What's a good mixer for black rum? I've tried the Dark and Stormy, but the ginger beer is a bit much for me. I also tried it with coconut soda, that's not bad. Any other ideas? I bet Ginger Ale would be a good compromise.

The Wild Turkey Distillery is less than 5 miles from my house. Makers Mark is 20 or so. Buffalo Trace is 10. Needless to say I live in bourbon country. The thing is though that I can't even stand the smell of bourbon. Been sick from it too many times. I prefer wine. I like Guinness pretty well. My son-in-law has a Guinness kegerator in his garage. He has tried to instruct me on how it must be poured. Seems there are rules to it.

Wasn't Sam Adams a yankee? And you call yourself a Sourtherner? A sourthern gentleman doesn't partake of northern spirits. At least not in the open.

Well, where I'm from, Sam Adams is pretty big...and I like a few of their varieties quite a bit! Also, I remember watching a show on how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness!
