I got no problem with it
but I am a papist so I am not sure my vote counts

in university me and my friends would sometimes play cards, we would all put in some money, $10 or $20, and at the end of the night, whoever had all the chips got all the money
this way people did not get dumb raising the bets, you could not buy more chips or whatever
I look at it like spending money on recreation, if you spend too much it is waistful, but you can either spend $10 on a night of card playing or $10 on a movie, it is recreation

My Catho-holic friend, do you find it offensive to be called a Papist? I've used the term for years without considering how it might be viewed by RC's.

it is a loaded term, I have a Methodist friend who calls me a Papist as a joke and I take it as a joke

in serious conversation I would not use it, it is anachronistic and mildly offensive, I would compare it to calling a Muslim a Mohammadin

like if someone just offhandedly used that term, I would not storm off or anything, but it would give me a moment of pause

the term implies that my faith is based on the Pope, when I would say my faith is based on Jesus Christ.

I had just read the last two posts. I was involved with a cult several years back and now that I am out of that group, to this day I call them Branhamites, because they follow after William Branham's false teachings insteac of the bible. So I guess you could say that I once upon a time was a Branhamite.

Now with that said, I will keep quiet in my little corner of the pub. I wouldn't want to be a brawler.

ohhhh do not talk about root beer

I was driving through the Amish country in Pennsylvania last summer and we stoped at a little farmers market where you could get a little dixie cup of root beer for 25 cents
it was so good, home made root beer, kinda flat but it tasted like liquid gold, we were throwing in dollar bills and just doing shots of root beer

I have never had homemade root beer and not sure if I would like the thoughts of it being flat. But than again I would have to try it. Have you ever tried boiled peanuts? Instead of roasted peanuts they have boiled peanuts. When I was travelling through Alabama State, my friend asked me if I wanted some boiled peanuts. I looked at her as if she was from another planet. But I did try them and they were so good. What they do is pick the peanuts when they are in between being green and ripe. They put the peanuts in water and lots of salt and they boil them raw. After they are done then you eat them. They are soft and not crunchy.

Now I'm not sure if JM would want to have boiled peanuts in his Pub. However he would have to try them first.

Actually my favorite pop as a child was root beer, cream soda, grape and orange crush.
Sorry I'm not an alcohol fan, I just like to sit here, listen and watch.

When I lived in Florida there were boiled peanut stands all over the place. I never cared much for them though. I like the roasted and salted ones much better. But the fishing there was great. I lived in Florida for 10 years and nevr played a round of golf. I fished, both fresh water and deep sea. I didn't start playing golf until I moved to Kentucky. Now I look forward to every round. I still love to fish but golf has got me hooked. Pun intended.

LOL they also have one called "Original Sin"
it was my favorite
but it was not at the store we went to

I made Miso and Honey glazed Chicken Wings
Green Tea Noodles
and shiitake mushroom and mixed veg stir fry

and I had tooo much cider
but it is carnival season

Green tea noodles? Sound interesting. Is it ramen noodles boiled in green tea? lol I'm gonna have to see your recipe.

Cider has a way of creeping up on you. I always drink mine with lots of ice and I only buy a few cans (yes cans) at a time.

there is an asian market, these were noodles made with dried powdered green tea mixed in with the dough
it was very nice
i had 7 bottles of cider.... too much too much

I googled a few recipes that suggested using strongly brew green tea as a marinade or something. I'll re-google.

cow, that is a lot. I can only handle 3 tops.

Wow, thanks to Rhamiel, you done made me hungry. And I haven't even had my breakfast yet. Green tea noodles. I have never tried those but than again I like to try something new. No apple cider for me though. Just to read how many you had Rhamiel made me a little tipsy.
