3It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; -1 thessalonians 4:3-5
It seems there's no escape.
Step into a movie theater, click on the TV, or surf the Web, and you can't help but wonder if morality has gone the way of the dinosaur. Tune into the radio and you're bombarded with the latest lust-driven lyrics of a current hit. All this can lead you to believe that sexual purity is just plain weird-even for Christians.
Although God created sex as a wonderful gift to be shared by men and women in marriage, let's accept the obvious: Staying pure in this impure world can be a brutal struggle.
Question: Why does God give us sexual desires but expect us to wait?
Answer: Learning sexual self-control helps us grow into healthier, more fulfilled, Godly people.
Every person on this planet shares a need to love and be loved. And as though who follow Christ deepen their faith, they learn that the foundation of love must come from a committed relationship with Jesus. His timeless instructions are intended to protect us from harm and to ensure that we get the most out of the gifts He provides-such as sex.
Bible Verse:
13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. -1 Corinthians 10:13
Question: How can premartial sex be wrong if two people love each other?
Answer: God wants men and women to save it for the special person who'll be their spouse for life. (That is, if marriage is part of God's plan for their lives.)
Bible verse: 18Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. -1 Corinthians 6:18-20
Stay on a purity path. If you're currently dating, never buy the lie that sex will deepen your relationship. People who say these things usually don't care about the other person or about being intimate. What they really want is sex.
Don't go out of bounds Flirting with danger and seeing how far you can go without sinning is a big mistake.
Here are two key things to help you:
-Set boundaries and stick to them. For example, don't spend too much time alone with your boyfriend or girlfriend, and don't allow your hands to wander.
-Never allow your mind to give into sexual fantasy. Jesus set a high standard concerning a person's thoughts. He says that even if you look at someone with lust, you have committed adultery. He wants you to seek His truth, not lies.
