I just finished watching it about an hour ago and I didn't like it...at all. Too much drama, not enough action. I was very bored.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you like nothing but action, then I suggest a Micheal Bay film....
Anyway, the movie is supposed to be dramatic. That is one of Quentin Tarantino's (the director) signature traits. His movies, in my opinion, have some of the best plots. His characters, especially in this movie, have the most interesting dialogue.
The way that the movie jumps around in the storyline is also a very interesting thing about the movie as well. Its one of my favorite things about it.

I wasn't crazy about this film when I first watched it, but the second time through it was great, so I suggest watching it a second time.
The dialoge really is amazing and just fun to listen to.
Notice how everyone got thier "just desserts" except for Jules? The only person who walked away from the life he was living.

I dislike how Tarantino inserted a bunch of stuff into the book of Ezekiel.
Maybe he should take note of Revelation 22:18-19....

I liked all the interwoven plots and the writing is fantastic, but the movie IS a bit overrated. Still good, but not the masterpiece everyone claims it was. I also don't know why you went into it expecting action

I wasn't expecting action..I didn't know what to expect. No one ever told me what kind of movie it was. All I ever heard was just how awesome it was and that it was one of the best movies and finally I gave in to Charlie's begging and watched it.

He didn't do that as to say this is how it really is, or how it should be, it's apart of that specific character development.
You associate those lines of Jules character with the director?
Do you also call Tarantino a murderer and a rapist because one of his characters commits murder and rape?

Possibly...the one story in it that I could follow was the one with Butch, other than that, it seemed too all over the place for me. More than likely I need to watch it again..that's what one of my girlfriends suggested, I'm just not sure if I want to sit through it again.

I watched it with my oldest when he was in college. He loved it. I could see where the whole movie was making fun of bad fiction, and I thought they did this well. Even the Ezekiel scene, the Samuel L. Jackson character completely adds to the actual biblical quote, which seemed intentional to me, once again building on a theme of entertaining, somewhat plausible, fiction.
I think the whole film made fun of the kinds of cult movies and writers a select group of people have enjoyed for a long time. For that reason, I saw it as brilliant film making, but the story purposely was designed to make fun of stories rather than be a good story in and of itself.
Also, I think the film technically is brilliant. The camera angles, the music and scenes, the fragmented timeline. I'm sure there's much more, but I suspect this most of all is what caused such a flurry of praise in the movie industry.

Well, most of the Bible quotin' is made up. So probably not.
I like Pulp Fiction - it's entertaining, well-acted, technically brilliant, and Tarantino knows how to handle pulp. I'm just not as lyrical about it as some people are.
Still a pretty amazing piece of cinema, though.

Depends on your taste, it's somewhat of a substantial/aesthetic film. And you're right about the hype it's been given, everywhere I look critics are adoring the film. (Partly the reason I prefer Reservoir Dogs.) I thought Pulp Fiction was funny, though. Like pretty much everyone else in the world agrees, amazing dialogue, and creative in that old Tarantino kind of way. Which seems to be plummeting these days.

I enjoyed it, but its definitely one of the most over-hyped films I've seen in my life. As a director, I feel Tarantino is good but not as good as everybody makes out.
Plus Deathproof was incredibly dull. If I wanted to watch women sitting around in cafes talking, I'd go out with my mum and sister for lunch.
