  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pulp Fiction?

I've always thought this was an overrated film.

Pulp Fiction is a terrible film, and not because of any moral content, but because it's absolutely overrated, mostly by young people who don't know their film history. If they did, they'd know Quentin Tarantino is an untalented hack who steals every concept in his films from much better films. The famous dance scene between Uma Thurman and John Travolta's characters is a blatant rip-off of Jean-Luc Godard's "Bande A Parte", and the concept of Interconnected plotlines, lauded for being so incredibly original, dates back to the 1950's when Akira Kurosawa made "Rashamon".

Personally I've never had trouble with film tributes. I've always enjoyed seeing directors pay homage to film history and other directors' work :)

Sure, but to go on a make a career out of "homages" ?

I've heard that originally the case was going to contain the stolen diamonds from Reservoir Dogs, but in the end Tarantino decided to make it purposely ambiguous.

I herd somthing like that before to. I not sure but I think Tarantino once hinted that all his movies exist in the same world.

Please note that discussion of Scientology and Tarantino has been moved to this thread (which is temporarily closed for moving). Please ensure all continued discussion pertains to the movie itself. If you have any questions please feel free to ask myself or any member of the Friendship Team staff. Thank you!
