I think if you believe God created the universe then, unless you think psychedelic plants are the result of the Fall, you've got a pretty good argument against criminalisation.

Surely if a supremely wise and benevolent Being created something, it's there for a good reason. It seems obscene to me that anyone thinks they have the right to control something that grows naturally...if it grows because of intelligent design there must be an even stronger argument for it being allowed.

I don't mind the psychedelics at all, very interesting creation. Now, someone please explain to me why omnibenevolent God created botflies.
He was bored? Some things need to eat them?

"You see, Mike, contrary to popular belief, I don't hate gay people at all. Souls are actually genderless, you see. Not many people know that, even though it's kind of obvious, you know? How can a disembodied spirit-consciousness have a gender? Gender is simply something I made up so I could leave you mortal beings to your own devices for a few million years while I watched TV and stuff. I mean, I'm god, so you know I have cable. I mean, you can't expect me to create every single person manually. I have a life outside of you! But, anyway, yeah. That's why some people are gay. That's also kind of why some people are transsexual, too, though you can blame the incompetents in Human Resources for that little mix-up. I just do the paperwork."

I lol'd.

I'm not even sure if selling magic mushrooms is illegal in England. About 10 years ago, I worked in a very touristy area of central London, and a shop round the corner used to sell them, and they even had a massive sign saying "buy magic mushrooms here". Me and my workmates used to sometimes buy them at lunch and we certainly had some enjoyable afternoons. The taste was disgusting though.

In 2005 they were "upgraded" from totally legal to Class A status. That's right: according to UK drug laws, mushrooms are AS BAD AS CRACK kthxbai.

I think they're legal if they're 'unprepared'. Which basically amounts to them being in the ground. So, unlike cannabis, you can still grow them...and then pretend they just 'disappear' from time to time. :p

The classification system is mind-boggling. Cannabis apparently needs to be class B to 'send a message' and ecstasy, with the same minuscule death rate from allergic reaction as the morning-after pill, is as bad as heroin.

The government need to realise that the Daily Mail isn't a source of public policy...it's strictly fish and chip wrapping and emergency toilet paper only.

Disgusting. The person who was responsible for that should be sacked for incompetence and possibly jailed for their stupidity. I can understand why someone might want to make LSD or acid a class A drug (not that I'd agree with that), but mushrooms?!?

Haha, quote of the day! I might steal that one off you.
