  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

it says somewhere in the bible not to practice witchcraft or mediumship , or go to psychics ... something similar to that . I am just wondering what if this person were to continue to read minds ? Are people who really are psychic ( not the charlatans you see on TV ) sinning everytime they use their gifts ?

I'm not aware that psychics are mentioned in the Bible. I suppose it's arguable that they're a subset of witch, but that requires much more exegesis than I'm prepared to undertake.

It's worth noting that psi has never been demonstrated experimentally. FWIW.

first of all I am trying to keep this hypothetical , despite other factors , and second of all that does not exactly mean psi does not exist . Unless you want to say everything that is not scientifically proven is false ...

But really , does anybody know for sure whether or not God is against such things ? :help:

I think that when the bible says witchcraft it has the conotation of evil. I imagine if a person was born like that then it would only count as a sin if they used it on purpose to do somthing bad. Even if they did, they could ask God to forgive them, and if they were sincere it would be forgiven just like the sins of everyone esle. Jesus died for the witches too.

I think it probably so, slayer.

We have all have, to some extent, the ability to sin. The person born with telekinetic power would only have this ability to a greater extent than the rest of mankind.
It doesn't make it less forbidden that his ability is real rather than fake (as it is with all so-called psychics out there).

It probably wouldn't be a sin only if the person was impossibilitated of not using telekinesis (if it were always working despite of their intention, like our ears are). Still, this can only be known when all kinds of spiritual measures (and even medical) have been taken to rid the person of it.

There are no real psychics. Psi does not exist, or at least there is no evidence for it existing.
