  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Personally, I never heard of him, but then again, I dont' pay much attention to theologians, etc.

I can't confirm this as I don't know the religion of most scientists, but I am skeptical of this claim. As for me I'm not a Christian, so this doesn't cover me.

That's certainly a word "interesting", not the one I would use for Ham on science. As for his false scientific claims, that could take a while and they do come up often here, so stick around and you'll see some analysis of his "science."
No problem. But to be fair, again, almost every other mainstream scientist would call a creationist false. So there is always going to be a conflict.

The 64-dollar term for someone who speaks outside of their area of expertise is "ultracrepidarian."

But the academic world would rather use more derogatory terminology, not realizing they're showing what they really think of us.

I equated the two, because the first thing in the video was a clip of Ken Ham.
Sure. As a critique. These are very different sources. I can find videos of Richard dawkins with YECs too, but I wouldn't equate them.
