  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is very good meditation:

The 23rd Psalm
[In application for our present day]

This is an eye-opener; and some souls probably never thought nor looked at this Old Testament Psalm in this way, even though they may quote it over and over again:

The Lord is my Shepherd ---that's relationship;

I shall not want ---that's supply;

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures ---that's rest;

He leadeth me beside the still waters ---that's refreshment;

He restoreth my soul ---that's healing;

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness ---that's guidance;

For His name sake ---that's purpose;

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death ---that's testing;

I will fear no evil ---that's protection;

For Thou art with me ---that's faithfulness;

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me ---that's discipline;

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies ---that's hope;

Thou annointest my head with oil ---that's consecration;

My cup runneth over ---that's abundance;

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life ---that's blessing;

I will dwell in the house of the Lord ---that's security;

Forever ---that's eternity.

Interesting correlation but the psalmist said it in a much more memorable way.
