The Lord is my shepherd..............................That's Relationship !

I shall not be in want..........................................Supply !

He makes me lie down in green pastures..........Rest !

He leads me beside quite waters.......................Refreshment !

He restores my soul......................................Healing !

He guides me in the paths of righteousness..........Guidance !

For His name sake.........................................Purpose !

Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death.................................Testing !

I will fear no evil............................................Proctection !

For you are with me ...................................Faithfulness !

Your rod and staff they comfort me....................Discipline !

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemy............................ Hope !

You anoint my head with oil..............................Consecration !

My cup overflows............................................Abundance !

Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life......................................Blessings !

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD.............Security !

Forever.........................................................ETERNITY !

I believe that you have done a very good job here and a very concise commentary. I would like to share an idea with you and other readers. Where I grew up in southern California there where Basque shepherds who would lead their flocks of sheep around in the foothills to feed. This practice was beneficial for them, in that their flocks were feed cheaply. It was beneficail for the community because the sheep would strip the foothills of foliage that during the summer months would be tinder dry, and ofte caused terrible fires,

To my point, I was like ten or eleven at the time and would go up to see the sheep and talk to the shepherds. One thing that I noticed at quite a few of these sites were sheep that were penned close to the shepherd's trailer, that had their legs in splints. I asked one time about this becauseit seemed like every shepherd had at least one sheep or lamb that had limbs broken.

One of the shepherds told me that they (the shepherds) had broken the leg on purpose. It seems that Sheep usually follow the crowd and don't wander off and do their own thing. But every once in a while there will be a sheep that becomes independant minded and won't stay with the flock or follow directions. This shepherd told me that they break the legs so the the sheep has to stay where the shepherd puts them, and they have to depend on the shepherds to do everything for that sheep, i.e. bring them food and water. By the time the sheep's leg is mended they have lost their independant nature, they stay with the flock, and they listen for the shepherd's voice.

In essence the shepherds "makes them to lie down" to bring them back into the fold and dependant upon the shepherd. So it isn't only rest, but also discipline.
