PS3. The looks, and the fact that you can play PS1 and PS2 games as well as PS3. On X-box 360, you can't play old X-box games. Plus, the PS3 is soo powerful it has to sit in cooling gel, AND have a fan, all so that it doesn't overheat. Plus, PS3 has lots of little chips, where each one is as powerful as the chip in the PS2.

Hardware wise, 360 blows the PS3 out of the water.

X-Box 360 is backward compatible.
Microsoft confirmed that at E3. it would be suicide for their next-gen console not to make it backward compatible when Sony has made the PS3 backward compatible with PS1 AND PS2 games.

I believe at one point both companies were ditching backwards compatability. I believe they said how it wasn't an important feature. NOT important? Yeah ok, I'm glad they revised that decision to include it so I don't need 84 systems around when I want to play a console specific game

Oh and about the specs....I could care LESS about performace (as far as I care, the SNES was the greatest), but games are what get me. Both systems have games that interest me, so that's fine. It just irritates me a little when graphics and processing power matter more to gamers then an actual wholesome game. I'm an old school gamer where storyline and good characters with personality made my bucks. Please don't get me wrong, I love cool looking graphics, but it's the stuff that gets less attention that get mine

I doubt that the PS3 would be backwards compatible to PS1... I mean, the system is 10 years old. But that's just my opinion.... I dunno, I wasn't into console gaming for a long time, and it is only in the last year and a half or so that I've gotten an xbox. I dunno.. at the moment I don't have the money to spare, but I may wind up getting both when I get my own place and a paying job.

360 is better than PS3 in my opinon because for one Sony has always been relient on franchises for their games. If one fails, they lose alot of money and buisness. Microsoft is always trying out new and original games. Some fail more than others, but the ones that do succeed are tremendous.

360 will also have better online options; and in this day in age of ours, online capability is a big factor in gaming, so 360 gets big pluses there.

Xbox live is way better than the Sony setup. Playonline is the only "real" competition against it, but that's PC based and its garbage.

I'm sick of hearing Xbox fanboys saying 'Xbox 360 is best' and PS2 fanboys saying 'PS3 rocks!' and Gamcube Fanboys saying 'GC Revolution is best!'

I would like to have all three, just because there are alot of games that I loike on all three concoles, but there exclusive to that console only

I have a PS2. I would LOVE to get Shadow the Hedgehog, but then there's Fable for the Xbox. and Pokemon Colesium for the GC.......

Unlike most of you hear that are always debating which one is best, we don't have enough money to go out and buy all three, and then say one is best Which is why I'm so sick of everyone saying one is best. No, Microsoft has a tendancy to showcase their best sellers more avidly than Sony. Its marketing strategy really. Sony doesn't need to show off any popular game or best seller, regardless of it being a AAA title or not.

From Microsoft's standpoint, since you're attempting to gain market share from the king, you want to do that: push the games that sell. Sony, traditionally, sits on its laurels and lets the money roll in.

The backward compatibility issue becomes an issue of how much MS wants to pay Nvidia in royalties. I would bet that Nvidia is going to charge a certain amount for each game that is coded and rewritten for the 360. Because of the different chipsets, the code is actually different from each set. The reverse would be true if MS used ATI in the first place instead of ATI.

Well, don't worry about it. No one listens to me either.

ANYWHO, I like the PS3 better than the XBox 360. Ya...I just never liked the XBox or any of its games. That may be because I'm mostly into the RPGs of the PS3 series (Final Fantasy mroe specifically), but I didn't much like the RPGs for the XBox. I have yet to see the graphics for the XBox, but either way I'm still going to buy the PS3 (LOLZORZ YOU FANBOY, QUIT LIKING THE PEEEHSTHREE AND GET WITH THE TIMES THE ARCKSBARCKS IS WHERE ITS AT)

But, I must say, the online capabilities of the XBox FAR surpassed those of the PS2. But still, I don't play online console games, I have Ragnarok Online for my online needs.

If my brother bought an xbox live subscription for a year....could he use it for Xbox 360 then? I would assume yes, but I don't know if they're using the same live because there's going to be a free and paid account now. Does anyone have confirmation on this?

wasnt the whole point of this thread was that he was asking for other peoples opinion. im mean you dont have to make a big deal out of other peoples opinion. and im not saying anything about any of the systems until i see games and graphics for revolution.
