PS2: need good action baseball and basketball

Just picked up Madden 2001 for $1.50 used. And it's almost perfect for me and my 9 year old. Not so complex that we can't play it, supports 4 (probably more) players at once.

Any suggestions for equivalent baseball and basketball games? Want good graphics and sound, lots of action. Home runs and slam dunks shouldn't bee too hard, less emphasis on team rosters and seasons and all that junk, just plenty of action.

EA also makes basketball games. Take 2 makes baseball games. They're the same style as Madden.

If your son is 9, then he'll probably be able to figure out how to perform slam dunks and hit home runs faster than his father.

"MLB Slugfest 20-04" is an arcade style baseball game. I've heard that 20-04 is the best in the series and that the newer versions lacked the features in this one. Its all about home runs and crazy slides and tags.

For hoops you might try "NBA Street 3". Its a more arcade style hoops game with crazy dunks and stuff.
