Proverbs, just comparing a few verses

Was looking at the wording in these awhile back, Im sure not saying they go perfectly just comparing here and looking how some of the wording seems to be found elsewhere.

To keep it simple just adding a few here. If you have others to add in or are catching more please post them. I was just curious when I kept running into what appeared like the same wording. I often just sit with them for while and add more later. I left off the more obscure

Just curious if a patern can be shown here, and if any are catching a larger one (is all)

Prov 7:19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

Prov 7:20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

Prov 7:21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with

Ever notice idols tend to be the largest thing connecting the two together?

Thats something I noticed, and its unavoidable in studying it

False idols come in many forms, but the biggest obstacle for man is himself.

Yes, there is inward and outward idols (Paul being greived when he saw by sight the city was given to idolatries) can be shown both ways. But honestly... I cant even fit into one post the references to these things, they are everywhere, threaded throughout in many various ways. How on earth did I miss that? The more I looked I was like WOW!


Duet 4:16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

Ezek 16:17-18 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them, And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.


Ezek 6:9.... because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

This quote of Pauls comes from the same place In Exodus where they made the golden calf

Babylon = confusion intricately connected with images but for brevity...

Isaiah 45:16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.
Same with to be ashamed having a harlots forehead (confusion to their own faces) Jerm 7:19

Isaiah 42:17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

I have been looking at this for quite awhile and whats weird is its endless, and can be shown in many various ways. Connected to vanities, His jealousy, works of hands, lie in the hand, abominations (openly so and in the dark) and merchants of the earth too (twofold) one in the sense of by the craft they have their wealth but also that which pertains to making merchandise of you sorta thing. And not even a quarter of the scriptures are even shown here, but I was like Wow!


However the placement of these things perfectly is not mine yet. Just comparing here but the many consistent paterns (even the wording in respects to them) that pour into it are amazing really.

It's amazing how one door leads to another, then another, then another.

I believe the Lord is pretty clear on worshipping Him alone, and not other things.

My comparisons are not perfect though, I keep trying to compare aright by feeling around the wording, but I cannot get away from idols or graven images (in any way) when it comes to her. I found that really strange I must say.

Just posting these, not for you nessesarily, but just for the heck of it. Trying to catch these better (as imperfect as they are)

Do we provoke the Lord, are we stronger then He?

Duet 7:25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:



Ezek 8:15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.

Inward idolatry too.. As these were covetousness, which is idolatry: Col 3:5


Luke 16:15 Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.


Ezek 14:3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?


Mat 6:24.... Ye cannot serve God and mammon.


2Cr 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.


Ezek 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.


John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.


These sound oddly similiar, but Paul adresses these



Ezek 36:18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:


Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.


Jerm 7:30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.

Whereas Jesus adressed God knowing their hearts (we being His house) covetousness being idolatry and an abomination likewise. Because it mentions escaping the pollutions of world (through lust) likewise

So I obviously havent gotten a grip on this one yet. Let me see if I can find the inward somewheres, I was cross checking it that way too.
