Two things wrong with this statement.Well, perhaps either God is a monkey, or the comparison is unworthy of the conclusion that we spawned from the loins of an ape.
Christ is physical. And there are plenty of notions within evolution (I agree with you they are false) that man descended from monkeys.TheBear said:Two things wrong with this statement.
1) The false notion that evolution has man descending from monkeys
2) That the image and likeness of God which we are made is physical

Correct me if I am wrong but did not Gen 1:26 go like this -Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."seebs said:Yes, but God the Father isn't, and the claim is that we are made in God's image.
God?Mirror said:ok the point im trying to make is that the chances of us evolving from a micro-organism is near zilch.its the same with the universe. it was not created by chance my freinds. if it was, what put it into rotation? where did the mater for it even come from?
This has nothing to do with evolution. Evolution describes the origin of species, not the origin of the universe or the first cell or anything like that. All it does is explain the full house of life that we now have.Mirror said:ok the point im trying to make is that the chances of us evolving from a micro-organism is near zilch.its the same with the universe. it was not created by chance my freinds. if it was, what put it into rotation? where did the mater for it even come from?
Wouldn't God the Father be included in "Us" and "Our". Therefor wouldn't His lack of a physical image cast doubt on Our shared likeness being a physical one?Katmando said:Correct me if I am wrong but did not Gen 1:26 go like this -Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
and not
Then God said, "Let ME make man in my image, according to My likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

The Father IS God, Christ (the Son) IS God, and the Spirit IS God. Thus we have the Trinity 1x1x1 = 1.seebs said:Yes, but God the Father isn't, and the claim is that we are made in God's image.
Since when did evolutionists NOT claim we evolved from monkeys?Cite? All I ask is a single serious peer-reviewed journal article or book on evolution which makes this claim. It can't be a creationist claiming that evolution says this; it has to be an actual scholarly work on evolution.
If there are "plenty" of them, I have no doubts that it will be easy for you to provide the citation.

The Word, mentioned in John 1, became flesh and dwelt among us. So, before the Word became flesh, at the time of creation, there was no physical form of God in the Son.
Also, I am not interested in misrepresentations of the Theory of Evolution. You will not find one sentence in the entire theory that has man descending from monkeys.
Yes, common ancestor. We both evolved from a single ancestor way back.Buck72 said:
