• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am the proud parent of a 12 year old son with Aspergers.

He has a real talent for building things, mathematics and - an amazing, sharp sense of humour! His secondary school is very helpful and my son is thriving, although the transition to his new school was difficult for him.

He has the most amazing capacity for solving problems and I am so proud of everything about him!

He is also incredibly handsome (takes after my side of the family ;) ) and I thank the Lord eternally for bringing him into my life.

That's all I wanted to say really, all children are wonderful, but Richard never ceases to amaze me!! :)

God bless all of you at CF,

Love Rachel x

It is so nice to hear an uplifting case of a child with Autism... thank you so much for sharing. I am sooooo glad you see these things in your son and see through the difficulties...'cuase there is no doubt in my mind there are some... I live it everyday. And it is not only difficult for those who work with individuals on the spectrum...it is very hard to live on the spectrum... But God created each of us with our very own talents and gifts and he also gave each of us our own genuine difficulties. And sometimes I think he puts those of us with Autism issues together with those that need to learn something from those autism issues...like patience and compassion. And visa versa... but it is up to us to pull out whatever lesson we can with each opportunity that God gives us. Thanks again for sharing.
