  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Some time back I made an email account with Proton Mail. I liked the security and anonymity it (claims to) provide. Now I'm getting ready to start selling some records at Discogs.

I recently read some articles that Proton is known to often be used by criminals and people up to no good. I don't know how important that is. Would it be a bad idea to use a Proton account for selling and buying? Would you trust buying merch from someone using a Proton account?

If criminals were found to all drive Chevys does that make you think you have to drive a Ford?

Good security is where you find it. So some criminals also found it. There is no guilt by association. Use Proton with confidence. Earn a reputation as a reliable vendor and nobody will care that you use Proton. Criminals also use Bitcoin. But Bitcoin is secure (though volatile) and nobody should be afraid of it. Lots of criminals use Dollars too, and nobody says anything about that.
