  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey All, I was hoping I could post this in your chapel, my understanding is that I may post fellowship posts, but if its not welcome I also wont raise a ruckus if its deleted.

Anyways, I was hoping to create in here a prayer thread where we could put theological differences aside and Just pray to our Heavenly Father together.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your grace and mercy and praise you for your beautiful son. Lord I lift up everyone in OBOB to you in understanding that you have a plan for every soul's life. Theological differences aside we ask that our prayers would make it to your throne unhindered by our iniquity.
Father, I lift up Erwin to you as he is about to transfer the servers. We ask that you would guide him in his decisions concerning this board as they require lots of money, some donated but alot of his own money. In Jesus' name I pray. - Amen. :crossrc:

Does anyone have a prayer request we could lift up together? (I do :))

I was wondering if you could pray that the Lord gives me strength when dealing with a co-worker. She absoloutly hates my guts and continually trys to tell me I'm not a Christian and that I hate her. Not only that she makes my job 300 times more difficult when I am there because of it. I am trying to live this verse to the fullest:

2Ti 2:24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil

But its very difficult with her. Thanks :)

Hi Lord's Envoy. I'm sorry I did not see this before. I think this is a great thread. I will pray for your co worker tonight, as well as for you my brother!

Dear Lord, we pray that we may learn to love each other, as you have loved us. Amen.

hey ps139, I was beggining to think no one wanted to respond to this thread.
I was worried about that! I do not think thats the case though. I think that in our prayer chapel here, there are some threads that people post on a lot and don't always look at the others unfortunately.

I greatly appreciate your prayers. Anything I may pray for you about?
If you would, please pray for my friend Tom who is serving in Iraq. He is a Marine and its extremely dangerous for them as you probably know.
Can I pray for you in any way?

I, too, think this would be a great thread. How are things with your co-worker? I will pray for you & her, just keep showing her Christ's Love!
The prayers of the faithful shall be answered says our Lord. Relations between me and my co-worker have improved drastically, it went from pure animosity to practically friendly--Just like that... Praise God for his Holiness and Faithfulness

:prayer: Considered him interceeded for.

If anyone says no they dont need prayer they are a liar :p so yes, there are many ways one can pray for me. God is telling me that I am going somewhere to the Middle East as a missionary in the not so distant future. I am greatly excited about this even with all the inherit dangers involved. I think I am to goto a closed and hostile country though. So I need Guidance on that, pray that our Lord will reveal to me how and when.

Yep the chapel gets ignored alot
Prayer is hard work sometimes, and most of the time we like to take it easy. Its one of the problems in the church as a whole I think. We should be continually reminded of this verse whenever we see a prayer request:

1Sa 12:23 Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you, and I will instruct you in the good and the right way.

No doubt as we begin the advent season let us also remember to thank & praise God for his son.

Envoy, I too am a Protestant (former Roman Catholic) who still occasionally views these boards and would like to remain in prayerful conversation with my Christian brethren from the Catholic Church.

Interestingly, like you I found myself in a situation with a co-worker who everyone had problems with, not just me. My boss even said that she was considering letting the woman go. I prayed that God would grant me the patience to deal with this woman who was very difficult to train and disliked people younger than her (and I could be her daughter!) giving her instructions. I really didn't want my boss to fire her, especially as she needs this job (social security doesn't pay her enough) and actually likes working at my office. Lately, I have seen an improvement in her attitude and she is getting better at her work and has not been argumentative towards me.

Thanks be to God and praise to you, Lord Christ
