  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hosea 12:10
I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Where are the bold ones for the Lord? Where are the your sons and your daughters who prophesy and see visions...do we have any who dream dreams?

How far are we away from the Lord that He can not talk to us this way? If He called would we answer and say Here I am, send me?

Do we seek to be spoken to this way, do we ask the Lord to communicate this way? How does one approach the Lord for such? Do we, maybe is a better question? Is it because of our little faith, that we receive little? Is it because we would not accept it even if we received it in such a manner? Do we need to go to the Holy of Holy in prayer and seek this as a gift from God?

Any thoughts regarding this....

I don't see ANY of the prophets of G-d in the T'nakah ASKing G-d for this. Nor in the Ketuvim Natzrim. I DO see men saying "henaynei" when G-d says "I want *you*!" I also see a few running the other way. Most were not special or especially righteous. G-d will use who He wants when He wants. He spoke the loudest to a rebellious and corrupt generation and nation. He will speak again when it is His time.

Is this like God waiting till we have had enough? Like the Israelites in Egypt until the oppression was so much that they cried out for their salvation, pointing to the promises. Does God wait knowing that all in good time, they will call upon him, all in good time, they will come to the realisation that it is time, all in good time make their hearts ready, and all in good time they are humbled to the last hope?

My point, I think, was that G-d sent His prophets in His good time. NOT when we thought we needed them ;)

AND, very scarce indeed are the examples where the pronouncements of the prophets were heeded, by any one.......

Vision, I hesitate to share this for many reasons... I too have prophetic dreams, often in "seasons" but also more randomly, on an occasional basis. Mine have both been of a personal (family/individual) nature and also for and regarding various churches we have been members of (which, of course, I submitted to the leadership and pastors of those churches) and they have been proven. I do believe that old men dream new dreams, young men see visions and there is prophetic working... but... well anyway. :|

As in times past when the Holy Spirit came upon the prophets, Jesus sacrifice enabled the same Holy Spirit to be poured out on all flesh and introduced speaking in tongues to among other things, confirm the outpouring. This is as much available to the believer today as it was in the time of the writing of Acts.

Thadman.....The Lord has blessed you with dreams, and are they of a personal nature or do they have prophectic meaning that you can share with us?

They were for a very specific purpose when they came. My friends and I were involved with a cult who introduced us to the idea of "Spiritual Gifts." We honestly asked God to provide, and what we were given, the prophesy and dreams, the cult despised (as you can imagine they weren't very flattering to them).

In the end, God prevailed. We were excommunicated from that cult, but a month later, the "family group" we were a part of disbanded. A month after that, the branch of the cult in our college crumbled. Now I hear rumors that the entire cult has fallen apart, and I'm just glad that God used me as a tool to facilitate this.

Sometimes either I or my friends will receive prophesies that are relevant for us or for other people we know. Only once my Other Half had an apocalyptic vision, which I recorded but haven't looked at for a long time. Once I find it I might post it here, because I remember it having some imagery that had to do with the Temple.

A friend and I received apocalyptic visions about 8 years back...Believe me, it is not a gift you would want to ask for. It can be dangerous and wreck your life if you are not in a strong congregation were the spirits are rightfully tested. By HaShem's grace we received back our sanity. Despite the fact that we ended up in Jerusalem, HaShem met us there. What I discovered in Jerusalem was that a single act of lovingkindness outweighs a lifetime of prophetic vision. Gladly did I trade that gift in. Not saying that it does not have its use, but my experience is that the Ruakh haKodesh cannot be coaxed for visions and dreams. If one receives these, they serve a very specific purpose usually meant for a specific reason you immediately should realize. Once that use is served the gift has spent it's value. But the gift of loving others is the one gift that is priceless. It was not us who received this gift, but the ones who met us and showed us love--then I witnessed the mercy of HaShem. I discovered the true meaning of the Kingdom of G-d not in dreams and visions but in an simple act of lovingkindness.

My heart has been warmed to hear that though the weight of responsibility regarding the vision and dreams that the Lord has given is heavy, He is still providing little portions to His servants, so that it is no more than we can bear. He promised to carry the burden, if we but have the faith. The rich blessings that comes from the light which is from heaven is something we all could use, to guide us closer to Him who is able to redeem us. I believe it is better to pray for it before things get worse, than to pray for it and receive it when things are worse.

One of the reasons that I asked, is that I too have had a Holy experience, and since very few talk of Holy experiences, I was wondering how rare is it. I now understand the word Holy as more than something posted on church doors and religious objects. The reality of Holy is awesome, mind boggling, and converting in huge dynamics.
