JESUS AND ME
I know with a surety that I am free,
All these years of pain and hurting,
Then Jesus made Himself so real to me,
So I find myself praising and rejoicing.
I have to tell you about my greatest treasure,
I know a love that is beyond all measure,
At the cross of Jesus I found a brand new life,
And freedom from bickering and strife.
A long time ago I asked Jesus into my heart,
I thought I knew Him, but that was only the start,
Through the years he has been changing me,
So that others might start to see His image in me.
I never knew even five years ago it could be like this,
One moment in His sweet presence is absolute bliss,
How can I explain this ecstatic unmeasurable joy,
This only a small taste to what in heaven I will enjoy.
Im not saying that my life is so easy,
For to say that would be a total fallacy,
Jesus said Take up your cross and follow me,
He did though promise I could live in victory.
I know He is with me guiding me through each day,
He is a lamp unto my feet guiding my way,
And He is my cloud by day and my fire by night,
How wonderful it is that He will never let me out of His sight.
So even in my darkest hour of trouble I can rejoice,
For I know following Jesus was definitely the right choice,
Where would I be without my dear Lord and Saviour?
There is no way I would be coping in this day and hour.
But I can rejoice at all times like the Apostle Paul,
My whole life I will give over to Jesus, give Him my all,
For He is the one, I find myself loving, with growing passion,
And I will play my part in serving Him in this generation.
