  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

With dreams like that, sometimes we're to repent on behalf of the party and asks for His mercy.
I think it was a word of knowledge revealed in the dream to give a warning to the pastor that there are elements in his church that are going to cause the implosion. The person dreaming may not know what those elements are, neither might the pastor. If the pastor had taken the warning seriously, he might have gone to prayer and the Lord may have revealed the problem to him and he might have prevented the outcome to his church.

I was told of a Saturday prophetic conference my friend conducted in a particular Pentecostal church. Usually these conference have been very successful and a blessing to all who attend, but this Saturday was a bit of a disaster, and things didn't turn out well, and my friend was subjected to some harsh criticism which left him gutted, and he no longer had the confidence to conduct another conference. What he found out later was that the pastor of that church was involved in an adulterous affair and very soon after that Saturday, he left his wife for a much younger woman. This ruined his marriage, his ministry, and caused the church to close. My friend then realised why the conference he conducted went all wrong. There was an adulterous spirit grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit so that He could not flow as He has been able to flow in the other conferences. It was a pity that someone in that church didn't have a word of knowledge dream that might have saved the situation. Maybe someone did, but didn't believe it and took no notice of it.

Despite it being a popular notion in the church, there is no such thing as repentance on behalf of other people.
Repentance means to turn around and we can only do that for ourselves!

Hi, I'm new on this website so I might be posting in the wrong thread but I've been having dreams about tsunamis and floods over the years and recently they have become more frequent. In the dreams, I am either with family and friends, other Christians or alone. However, God always delivers me from the tsunami wave into a hiding place or most of the time he leads me into a high high place where the wave or flood waters do not reach me. My last dream was very interesting. I dreamt of knowing a tsunami was coming but I did not know exactly when. I was right by the shore serving food at a restaurant. However, I knew the time was near and right by the shore there was a huge hill and together with all Christians I began to climb that hill and we all climbed to a high place and were safe and there was darkness all around us but light shed on all the Christians on the hill. The rest were unbelievers and were all left behind and a tsunami came after the believers got to the hill and swept all of the unbelievers away. This was like a month ago that I had the dream. Could it be about the rapture being soon? The previous dreams about tsunamis did not involve other Christians as much, the last one, however, is really interesting in my opinion. What do you think about this?
Probably the teaching is affecting your sleeping mind. There is no rapture. There’s only the resurrection.

It’s a pity he himself didn’t get answers from God.

Not referring to repentance in terms of them receiving salvation from my prayer. There are Scriptures about repenting for others. Respecting this thread subject though.
Please show me any scriptures related to repenting on behalf of others.
Like Daniel, we can confess the collective sin of the nation, but we cannot repent on their behalf.

From Strong's Concordance-
Repent=
Definition: to change one's mind or purpose
Usage: I repent, change my mind, change the inner man (particularly with reference to acceptance of the will of God), repent.

Only individuals can do this.

He might need the Catholic writings to do this. They’re fond of this teaching. “When a coin in the til rings...”

On the subject of the OP.....about dreams.

Scripture does say that your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. God can and does use dreams the Bible has examples. I will say this though.....I would suggest probably the greatest number of people on the internet thinking God gave them a specific dream is IMO just themselves. Not because God couldn't or wouldn't but when you hear the details of their dream it's so vague, with a million and ones things they feel they need to interpret.

I know the story of Pharaoh and Joseph, Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel and yes there were a few things that needed to be interpreted BUT the answer came by revelation coming out of prayer and probably not just a little 5 minute prayer either. It didn't come by just people using human reasoning as in oh this is a type of that and this is a meaning for that. If people go fishing for the answer for every dream I think it gets a little silly.

This is a fairly accurate post, only your last sentence somewhat contradicts the previous two. Proper interpretation through the Spirit of God does indeed involve prayer, sometimes extensive prayer and time seeking the Lord for proper interpretation if the symbolism is veiled enough. But unlike what some argue on the forums, the idea that the Spirit of God cannot enable us to interpret highly complex and involved dreams is in error. He is just as capable of revealing highly complex dreams to His sons and daughters as He is dreams with more simplistic symbolism.

Your statement about proper interpretation not coming by human reasoning is 100% accurate. I have never consulted a "dream journal," Christian or non-Christian, in my entire life, with the reason being that the meaning of symbols is always dependent upon the context. The Lord Jesus Christ is symbolized in scripture as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. The Devil, on the other hand, is described as a lion walking about seeking those whom he may devour. Without discernment, one can attribute a dream to being about the Lord Jesus Christ when it is actually about Satan. Things must thus be revealed by the Spirit of God and interpreted in light of what He says, and not by mechanical or fleshly means.

But yes, not all Christians are receiving dreams originating from the proper source. Some dreams are of the flesh, and some are even of the Devil.

God bless,
Hdden In Him
