That's correct. I think you are confusing sex with gender.

The distinction between gender and sex is the distinction between socially and culturally created roles on the one side (gender) and the biological categories of male/female on the other side (sex). This distinction is generally used to highlight the existence of disparities in how power is distributed in societies.

My girlfriend puts up with 67 snakes and counting, about 2500 bottles of beer, 300 plus bottles of wine, 50 bottles of Single Malt Scotch, tons of beer glasses, signs and mirrors and a large number of obnoxious friends, she is definitely a special lady and a keeper.

My husband puts up with the 6 rats we are keeping, the gerbil, the turtle, the cat (and the second cat we are getting from my mom soon), the goldfish and the parakeet. Plus the fact that I own about two bookcases more books that we have shelves for. And he's letting me get a bigger cage for the parakeet and his own little gay life partner (the last thing we need is yet another pet unexpectedly producing offspring). He's also a keeper.

Why? It makes perfect sense to me, since there are times where one's physical characteristics don't match one's personal view of themselves.

You keep repeating this in threads and Ive yet to see any point to it.

When I was a child with pretty much nobody taking care of me in my pre-teen years in particular Id have given anything to have two mums or two dads around to look after me, gender would have been irrelevant.

and if my future son or daughter asked me "Mommy why is daddy a girl" (assuming we werent both reffered to as mums), id simply say because not all "dads" are male and not all "mums" are female. What matters is that we both love you very much.
