WotC makes card games because they MAKE MONEY. Do you really think that this company's main goal is to brainwash children into believing that occult practices are good? No, they just want to make money.
Because WotC makes Magic and D&D it makes them evil, right? And through guilt by association, that makes Pokemon evil, right? Certainly sounds just to me. Yep, we should all throw out our computers because Microsoft makes them and Microsoft FUNDS PLANNED PARENTHOOD WHICH DOES ABORTIONS OH SNAP NOOOOOOOOOOOES!!1!!one!!!1!
This supposed "brainwashing" you mention can be easily cured by having parents made more involved. Kids are certainly impressionable at young ages, so parents need to check up on how their kids entertain themselves. Good parents should talk with their kids about WHAT IS REAL AND WHAT IS NOT. Simple as that.
It's important to remember that KIDS GROW UP. Chances are that 99 kids out of 100 who loved Pokemon will look back 5-10 years from now and realize that IT'S A GAME; IT'S NOT REAL. So all superhero comics are evil then too, huh?
Finally....
Have you ever actually played the game or watched the TV show? The card game is rather comical and harmless.
The TV show actually teaches a lot of good morals, such as true friendship, selflessness, fair play, and loyalty. Ash does not run about greedily trying to catch everything he sees; most of his Pokemon befriended him BEFORE he 'captured' them. Jessie and James are portrayed as evil for a reason: THEY'RE THE VILLAINS. Would you really want the distinction between good and evil blurred?

Now there are just a few of your descriptions I have to take issue with.

It's an aspect of life we have to deal with.
2. sexually preocupied
I never noticed this--granted I was young when I devoted any time to Pokemon, but if I didn't notice anything I doubt it's corrupting the minds of children. There is a difference between an obsession with the opposite sex and being sexually preoccupied, you know.
3. Cross-dressing
So what? It's always done humorously, and again, these are the NEGITIVE role-models. The ones you DON'T want to be like.
Actually, none of the traits you mentioned are portrayed as good things. All the characters (even the villians on occasion) portray trais such as teamwork, friendship, loving enemies, forgiveness, realizing when your wrong, admitting mistakes, asking for forgiveness....who wouldn't want their child to display some of these qualities?
Just because the characters are portrayed as people who DO make mistakes on occasion, it doesn't make them satanic or evil.

I like how the OP decided to attack the card game, and not the original Game Boy games that spawned it, like the cards are somehow worse.

Simply because everyting else is covered, I'm going to take down your abra-kadabra thing. First the word "abracadabra" has long been associated with birthday party magicians and cheap slight of hand tricks, NOT with the occult. Second, Kadabra has a SOLID STAR on his head. A pentagram is an line traced star INSCRIBED IN A CIRCLE. And third, what the heck is "SSS" anyway? I see three squigly lines that bear as much resemblance to the letter "S" as my body does the letter "A". And are you assuming the "SSS" stands for "Six Six Six" or something? Cause you know, I'm sure the anti-christ is a mid level, imaginary, spoon-toting, psychic cross between a monkey and fox. And as for the satanic salue, I've never heard of it before in my life, and plus, everything I've seen shows that the salute requires FIVE FINGERS, of which Kadabra has ONLY THREE.

Actually, the Summoner Geeks video isn't by the Dead Alewives. Their recording was used, but it was set to a video acted out by characters from the Red Faction and Summoner video games at a much later date.

Ok, the article starts the proof by saying that he is extremely biased against Wizards of the Coast. Now then, including the fact that to my knowledge, there wasno proof of his cliams, there is alsothe fact that the games that started the craze was created by NINTENDO, not Wizards of the Coast. Not that the craze wasn't helped by the card game, but it wasn't the beginning of it. If the OP has prove otherwise, then please state it in your article. So then, since the main concepts wre created by Nintendo that wre used in the trading card game/TV show, shouldn't Nintendo be at least partially evil as well? Yet there is nothing stating anything to that effect in the article... interesting... As for the character's negative sraits, I'm sure there are shows that your kids could watch that had perfect characters, tht doesn't mean that all the good characters have to have no negative traits. There is also the fact that in my opimiom, Gary does show a bit of character developmentin the series. I may beincorrect, but the Gary at the beginning of the series, which character traits are the ones the author uses, are rather different from the ones in his Pokemon Chronicles episode. This is also the fact that if Jessie and James weren't evil, just misunderstood, there would be no conflict to the story! Evil characters should be evil, in fact making the lie blurred would most likely just confuse younger viewers. Good people should be good, evil people should be evil.
I see no proof that that pokemon in any way worship the Occolt to gain there powers. In fact it seems that the pokemon gain these powrs naturally. Abra and Kadabra were most lkely, just names Nintendo thought up when they were thinking about magicians at birthday partys, not any sort of evil magic. Any connections to the Occult that occur wre probably concidences that Nintendo did not realize would be a problem before-hand.
The fact is that if you are truely concerned that Pokemon is poisoning your childs mind, then you need to realize that it is JUST A GAME. I have found no proof that the TV Show, Trding Card Game, or Video game, promote any evil activities.
