  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God has made us lot's of promise's in the bible, Here are just four,
What promise's can YOU find in the bible.

(PROMISE ONE) To save Anyone who asks.

(ACTS 2;v21)...And anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

(ROMAVS10;vs9-11)...If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the scripture says, "Anyone who trust in him will never be put to shame.

(PROMISE TWO) To forgive you.

(LUKE 5;20-24)...When Jesus saw their faith, he said "friend your sins are forgiven". The pharisees and the teachrrs of the law began thinking to themselfs, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked "Why are you thinking these things in your heart? Which is easier to say, Your sins are forgiven, or to say, Get up and walk? But that you may know that the son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins..."He said to the paralysed man , "I tell you, get up take your mat and go home".

(PROMISE THREE) Never to turn you away.

(JOHN 6;v37)...All that the Father gives me will come to me, and who ever comes to me I will never drive away.

(PROMISE FOUR) TO cancel you debt.

(COLOSSIANS 2;vs13-14)...When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was
against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

and here are some others I thought of:

God of Comfort:
2 Cor. 1:3-4

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

A caring God:
1 Peter 5:7

7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is faithful; by Him you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1Cor. 1:8-9 RSV

What a promise, what a comfort this is to me. God will get me home safely.

2 Cor 1:20-21 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Rom 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
