I didn't realize how many shots it would take to get a few decent pictures.

I kept telling people to stop taking pictures but now I wish that more were taken.

Heres some advice, don't look into the sun while trying to look at the camera, don't have a bad background, do put the camera on multi photo mode, and also on portrait mode.

If you have a manual camera, like an SLR camera, put the camera into aperture priority mode and set the aperture to the widest it can get - that is, a lower number. This will put the background out of focus, just like portrait mode.
