I was speaking of 2023, sorry for the confusion.

The detachment I referred to (also, from just eyeballing the chart you posted) is the Victimization survey going up while FBI stats trend down. Generally they seem to either both trend up...or trend down....not disagree.

I understand what you meant by detachment, but the victimization report I posted (and afaik the most current one available) only went out to 2022. Where are you seeing 2023 numbers?

Sorry....you're correct. 2022. The article focused a lot on 2023...my mistake.

This chart I posted earlier from the victimization report shows 2022 as being roughly comparable on both Victimization and (Victimization - FBI Stats) as 2018 (not 2017 like I said earlier) and 2012, and better than everything before 2010.

It's indisputable that police are badly understaffed ever since 2020...and you know why...

The whole "police don't reduce crime" theory got tested.
