  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm a little too old to consider dancing as a profession; however, I am the Director of a Dance Ministry that has weekly classes, open to the public. We also teach workshops to those wanting to develop their ministries.

My daughter (15) wants to dance professionally, although she doesn't know if that will involve touring or opening a studio.

Check out Dance-Revolution(dot com) for info on their Ingredients program. If you are serious about dancing for the Lord as a profession, they are awesome! Truly talented artists that are on fire for God and are serious about using this medium to reach people for Him.

Be Blessed in whatever you decide.

ummm to firedancepsl i was considering on being a tap pro and i think its weird to tap as a form of worship based on my style.
Goodness... don't think that tap isn't a form of worship!! God created ALL things and ALL things were created for God. (Colossians 1:16) We worship something in everything that we do, so if you're not worshipping God while you tap, who/what are you worshipping. (I don't mean that as an accusation, just something for you to ponder.)

You should do a search for a dance company called Extended Urban Dance Company. They are out of Houston, TX and Karin & Kato Celeste are the people that run it. Karin is one of the best tap dancers I've ever seen and there is no doubt in my mind when she dances (in any style) that she is dancing in worship and praise to God.

I've recently written a book called Ignite a Firestorm: Using Dance to Reach Youth in Your Community and I discuss this very issue in the first chapter. Just because you're passion is a style of dance that isn't lyrical or ballet doesn't mean that God can't use it and hasn't received it as worship to Him. It's your intent that matters.

Anyways, I encourage you to really seek God on how you can use tap in a more powerful way to worship Him and reach others for His Kingdom.

now that i think about your suggestions a little bit more than i did a little bit before, maybe dancing could get my church to move with the times since we seem to be stuck in the past. also the reason why i said i don't want to do tapping @ church is cuz they swear that dancing is of the devil.<sigh>

 from the book...Dance According to the Scriptures by Stine McDonald: "I expect that those of you who are "tapping for Jesus to realize that it is a form of rejoicing and warfare. There is a sound in the spirit realm that is heard by the enemy when you tap, stomp and step on him." if you would like to read this book, it is on the website stepsorderdbyGod.com.

read in the book of judges where Gideon and his army went against their enemies with noise, and their enemies turned against one another.

if you attend a church where they do not believe in the ministry of the dance, then you will have to pray about that, and wait for them to get an understanding, or allow God to lead you to another ministry, if that is His plan for you. you can tap at home all you want, though.
