  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

profanity in games.

Now please explain how some people would have problem's with Swearing?

Here are some problems that people have with swearing:

  • It conflicts with their religious values
  • They do not want their children to use/hear that language
  • They do not want to be subject to such language so that it enters their vocabulary.
  • Swearing is mostly unnecessary
  • Swearing unnecessarily is a general sign of a poor education/ poor self control
  • Swearing can offend other people that hear it
  • It gives others a bad impression of you
  • It could get people fired or make them a social outcast.
  • Public swearing is not really accepted in society. (not counting all the youth trends today that will be forgotten in 5 years)

The list could go on, but sadly i ran out of time. Just remember, there are opinions besides your own and each of them is correct relative to the person who believes it.

Swearing does no physical or spiritual damage to anyone.
It's not addictive, it won't shorten your life, etc.

But being fat causes sooooooooooooooooooooooo much needless pain and suffering, but you don't hear much about that.

You can smoke a cigerrette in front of a church and no one will say anything to you, but if you say a cuss word, people get offended???

People have their prioritys all backwards.
