Producers Remake

What do you guys think about the remake of the Mel Brooks classic "the Producers"? I absolutely love the original. When I first say the new preview... in fact still when I see the preview I'm like "noooo!" but I dunno. Will Farrell may just save this one. I think Matt Broderick was a good choice beacuse he played Gene Wilder's character originally on broadway, however he's trying too hard to be like Gene and it's not working I find. ...and Uma Thurman's ruining the movie. Like here entire role isn't supposed to be in it. Sigh.... Poor Gene Wilder all these terrible remakes are gonna give the man a heart attack.

You just can't replace Nathan Lane. He absolutely makes any production he is in. I think it is one of the best character actors out there. He and Matthew Broderick and like Tony Randall and Jack Kluggman in the Odd Couple, you just cant replace them.

That being said, Broderick is now in the B'way rendition of the Odd Couple too.

I just watched it this past Friday... It's was really good. Lane did a great job, as did Will Ferrell I expected that though. Matt Broderick did well... I'm just used to Gene Wilder as the original role... to me you can't beat that. It was like Matt was trying to act just like Gene especially in certain parts... they're just very different actors.

DH and I laughed our butts off the whole way through it (of course I had seen the original- he had not)

I thought Will Farrell did a wonderful job. His character kills me everytime!
And Nathan Lane, serisouly, that man could act out the phone book and have me in stitches laughing.
