  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Procrastination...

I have a lot of trouble with procrastination also. I've found that I just have to make myself sit down and get some work done. I don't focus on one thing for too long that well, so I constantly change what I'm doing. I'll do school work for 20-30 minutes and then I'll let myself do something funner for a little while. I just have to consistently make myself get at least a little bit of work done. I also find it helpful to do school work first, otherwise I start doing too many other things and always tell myself I'll get to it later.

I struggled with procrastination a lot last semester, but over Christmas break I set myself straight. What really got me out of it was when I realized that I wanted to honor God with my education, and to do that, I needed to buckle down and get my work done! Speaking of which, I should write a paper. :o

I realize this is way late, but it still may help for future projects and such since finals are about to roll around.

I've discovered that there are certain times where I work more efficiently than others and procrastinating sometimes helps me get things done to the best of my ability. For example: my best papers and mindset to write papers occurs between the hours of 12am and 4am. I ramble too much if I try to write earlier than that. The time crunch makes me thorough and concise.

But, I do have a way to cut down on procrastination when I'm overloaded with work to do. I make sticky notes. I keep a sticky note in my planner or stuck to my phone and write down everything I need to do that day as I think of things all through the morning, even lunch and dinner or taking a walk. That way I have a constant list of things to do throughout the day and its rewarding to scratch things off the list. :)
Make time for fun or relaxation.
