  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, I need to get a new processor and I've narrowed it down to these possibilities

If the compare thing doesnt work, heres the links to the individual parts.

Obviously I need to get the best one, I can afford them, but Im not sure which one is best.

If you know of any that do BETTER than those I put up, please let me know, I have $140 to spend on the CPU

The motherboard is an Asus M2R32-MVP motherboard with an AM2 socket. I HAD an AMD Athlon 64 in there.

Well, of corse it all depends on what your using your pc for. But the fact is that the more cache you have the better! I would take more cache over a higher mhz anyday. Anything around a 3 gig cpu is more than you will ever use before we upgrade to a new cpu socket mobo combo.

So esepcialy in video editing you will notice a difference with the last choice.5200 2x1mb cache.

If your just gaming and doing every day stuff, you probably wont see any difference between the 2x512 and the 2x1 gig. Any a single core cpu isnt worth your time.

If you get one at a lower GHz, you always attempt to overclock it slightly. I would go with the: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103056

and then if you computer has efficient cooling, just take it up to like 2.8Ghz or 3Ghz. I think this card is good at overclocking, but i dont know since i always use intel. For you, the key is to stay at a low temp to prolong your system's life.
