CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

sometimes its my week...i seriously have to pray before i go to church, and give all my anxiety to God before hand, so that i can be fully devoted to praising His holy name

well believe it or not it used to be my mum. Its nothing she did, i was just too embarrassed to express any sort of emotion in front of her at home at especially at church. Thank God i am over that now and when it comes to praise and worship i can just go at it like theres no tomorrow

You gotta remember worship is not what YOU get out of it, it's praising God and nothing else.
Just because you don't get goosebumps all over doesn't mean it was an unprodictive time,, because worship is not about you.

sometimes it's because i'm playing in the worship band. that's real bad. it's just that i concentrate on the music so much i forget why i'm doing it. i'm getting much better. "the importance of our worship becomes irrelevant and insignificant when compared to the "object" of our worship" (steve fee). it is important though for worship leaders (or lead worshipers as i like to call them) to make sure they are leading for the right reasons. prayer is a must. i can't believe i was in a worship band for 2 years and never once prayed before a service. now i know though that it's not what i'm singing or what i'm playing on the guitar but what's coming out of my heart that god is paying attention to.
plus, when i'm not up front, i used to be embarrassed to do anything but stand there with my hands in my pockets and sing the words. after a certain retreat though, i can raise my hands and sing so loud without any hint of embarrassment. it's all between god and me. i think even if some people are a bit embarrassed to lift their hands or clap but they see someone else do it, they can do it too. i'm not saying you have to lift your hands or clap, just do what you feel is right. sometimes you just have to scream.
as a final thought, i really like the song that goes "i'll become even more undignified than this..." that song calls for hand clapping and hand raising and even jumping up and down.

Sometimes it's just that I think it looks crazy how I move. Of course the people are the problem. Sometimes I also don't want to be impolite to the people around me (screamin' real loud can disturb others). I've heard of people saying that other people could think they feel so "good" when they see them worshipping.
But mostly all these things are just crazy thoughts coming up. The most disturbing thing is yourself because you produce these thoughts.
