  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You see, you don't have clue one what I am trying to tell you do you ?

Its just 400 words from the CCC seeming at random.

So.....

Now try this :

Yes, terry baby, (can I call you Terry baby ?) but, the CCC states that it is the responsiblity of all Christian people, if fact all people generally, that they must form their own conscience on all matters moral and that it is their conscience that will convict them.

Further, it goes on to state that a conscience needed to be well formed but that being well formed does not imply that it be in complete agreement with the Chruches teaching.

See
http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/p3s1c1a6.htm#1778

Therefore, I can come to a moral interpetation that is different from yours (or for that matter the chruches) and still be following my consceince and in good moral standing.

See the difference ?
No, you can't call me Terry baby. And consider yourself lucky you're not in the same room with me right now. And if you want to say something stupid, send it in a message so I can tell you what time it is

Ok, then, no terry baby

We are in the same vitural room

And its 1605 in my time zone. What does that have to do with anything ?

so I can tell you what time it is

Is this some idiom with which I am unfamiliar ?

I think he just want to show me his new watch......

That would explain why he would want you in the same room - but he says you're lucky you aren't in the same room with him for some reason. OOOoh, I got it, he probably had Blatz and sauerkraut for supper last night. I think we've all been there.

Nope. You're not the first person to suggest that though. I take it as a compliment, Cos probably not so much. I've also been called his tag team partner, which I kind of liked.

Note to anyone who might have done time: "Tag team partner" doesn't have the same meaning here as it did in the joint.

Thank you all for your help.

I was advised to come here to get advice which was in-line with Catholic Church teaching. However, the person who advised me to do that has repeated the advice which I had already received in the Marriage Forum. That advice was to help my husband at the times when he cannot control himself. I think that is the only solution, really, in my circumstances. However, I will seek out the advice of my priest about this matter.

Thank you all again for your advice and help.

God bless.

Thank you. And thank you for the best post in this thread, earlier. :) I will show it to my husband.

You're welcome. I know this can be so hard. Please know you are both in my prayers.
