Just because the Jewish Messiah came doesn't mean that we chuck the whole OT.
There are plenty of prophecies in the OT that are waiting fulfillment..only the Levitical laws have been done away with.

You won't answer the question about bowing down to an idol if the government commanded all citizens to because it would show clearly your position unscriptural.

You are so wrong! What do you think "new" means? The Old Covenant has been superseded by the New Covenant. Everything is new in Christ! The old has passed away. If you don't understand that you don't understand the fundamental truth of Christianity.

You cannot judge my position on anything because of the above. I would suggest that you take some time away from the forum and ask God to show you the truth in Christ.

Any more BS and you're on my "ignore" list.

Simply read the Book of Hebrews, it is the Levitical law and Priesthood that has passed.
Do you think Jeremiah is no longer applicable?

Jeremiah 31:31-33 KJVS
[31] Behold, the days come, saith the Lord , that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: [32] Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord : [33] But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord , I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Notice v.32 'the covenant I made with their Fathers when I took them out of Egypt'...that is the Mosaic covenant that has been superseded not the Abrahamic covenant. Read Hebrews and Galatians chaps 3 and 4 to help you better understand the difference.

Anywhoo abortion is wrong in God's eyes at any period in history, He does not change.

BTW, Personal insults are against the rules of this forum.

It's not I who misunderstand scripture, but you. As I said, take some time off and learn about the New Covenant in Christ. That's not a personal insult, it's advice.

Your blanket statement of "Anywhoo abortion is wrong in God's eyes at any period in history, He does not change" is just your personal opinion, with no scriptural basis. Besides, we're talking about a woman's freedom when we talk about the political issue of the right to have an abortion under the 14th Amendment. Show me somewhere in the New Covenant where God says that women should not have legal rights. If you're denying a woman her legal rights you are violating Romans 13, which says that we are to obey legal authority. The Supreme Court has ruled...deal with it.

I'm arguing from Scripture, you are arguing from State law. You keep ducking away from the possibility of the two colliding in conflict. Since the New Testament says you should not murder, will you still be for murdering the unborn just because the State says it is ok?...

Romans 13:8-9 KJVS
[8] Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. [9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

I really can't understand what you're talking about. Where in scripture does it talk about denying a woman her legal rights? Show me, please. I know you can't because it doesn't exist!

Also this has nothing to do with "State law". Regarding federal law, the US Supreme Court determined, based on the 14th Amendment, that a woman has a right to an abortion. What is it that you don't understand??

If you're going to pull something out of context from Romans (that really has nothing to do with it), you should also include adultery, theft, false testimony, greed, etc. along with murder. Notice, by the way, that these are part of the ten commandments, and that the Mosaic law has been done away with in Christ. It's beyond me how you can bring five commandments into any discussion about a woman's legal right in the 21st century.

For the umpteenth time, Romans 13:1-2 says "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. If you don't like the Supreme Court decision, too bad. It's the law of the land. Deal with it!

Denying women their right is your strawman, not mine. I never said a woman should have her rights denied. Or are you wanting to have the unborn's right to live denied too?
State law, Federal law same thing. I'm speaking in terms when God's law and State law collide, a topic you can't face. If you want to applaud murder of the unborn just because man has legalized it, that is something you will answer for on the Day of Judgment and BTW the Supreme Court's abortion ruling will not help you.

You're out of your mind. The entire issue about abortion these days stems from the Roe v Wade decision made by the Supreme Court (and others that followed). That's not a straw man, that's the crux of the issue.

If you think you're talking about God's law versus "State law", that's a straw man argument if I've ever heard one.

Your comments about my "applauding murder" are wrong, vicious, and shows you have no knowledge of God's spirit. You and I and everyone else will answer for our actions. Good luck with your Pharasaic judgement about matters that you don't understand.

I've had it with your un-Christlike attitude. As of now you're on my ignore list. I'll never have to read your ungodly BS again!

The strawman I was referring to was your continual drumbeat that I was in favor of denying a woman her rights. My point is that murder is not a right.
So seeing you continue to insult me ('you're out of your mind' -statement) and misrepresent my statements it will be a relief to have you put me on ignore.
Your whole defense of abortion has centered around, 'it's the law, and as Christians we must obey the law of the land'.
That type of thinking handed 6 million Jews over to the Nazis.
I pray you reconsider.
