  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You may not think that this is a problem, but it is for me!

I've always wanted larger screen resolutions, but this computer can only get me up to 1152x864...but yesterday when I went onto display properties I had more options of screen resolutions you can imagine! I quickly tried each resolution one after the other, like a child frantically unwrapping Christmas presents. Everything on my screen was getting smaller and smaller and the amount of space was getting larger and larger, eventuallly it reached the monitors limit (can't remember what the limit was), but I was happy .

I finally had a screen resolution that I was pleased with.....BUT when I awoke this morning to the humble glow of my PC...my resolution had reverted back to its old ways of 1152x864, I thought that it was not a problem, so i went to display properties too change it back to its mightiness...uh oh, theres only the 3 default resolutions there and I cannot get any higher than my current resolution....

So I ask of you my friends...how could I get my resolution back to its mightiness? I think it may be due to me fiddling with the PC's insides trying to fit in a slave harddrive(if someone can get me links to how to install a slave HDD I would be most grateful).

I thank you for your replies Aggiebrad and Lightkeeper!

My videocard is a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 and my monitor seems to be recognized as plug and play...that means generic right?

My OS is windows XP Home Edition Build 2600....blah blah (font is too small) Service Pack 1!

I may try and make it recognize this monitor maybe that would help. :)

Thank you very much.

Installing a second hard drive is not too difficult. Just make sure you adjust the jumpers on the back of the drive first. Your main drive(c:\) needs to be set as master and your slave drive needs to be jumpered as a slave. After the jumpers are set you just slide them into the bay, connect a power cable, and connect the ide cable. The ide cable has a red stripe on one side, that stripe needs to be on the side that is next to the power cable. As long as you put the cables in the right direction everything should work fine when you boot up. Windows will assign drive letters when you boot up.
