  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

'Rowdy' Roddy Piper Dies at 61 From Cardiac Arrest
Source: TMZ

Wrestling legend "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has died at the age of 61 ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Piper -- born Roderick George Toombs -- died from cardiac arrest in his sleep at his home in Hollywood on Thursday night. He was discovered on Friday.

Piper was a wrestling icon -- one of the biggest stars in the WWE back in the '80s, and even wrestled in "Wrestlemania I" back in 1985 ... squaring off against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.

RIP Roderick George Toombs

One of the very best.

I used to watch wrestling when I was quite young until my teens. NWA, WWF, AWA, WCCW, and WCW.

This soap opera doesn't do much for me today, except the occassional tragic stories of young healthy men losing their lives due to anabolic steriod abuse or being put out to pasture by these organizations when they are no longer a hot commodity.

MMA is my thing these days.

"Pro Wrestling" has nothing to do with the Grecian-Roman form of wrestling (collegiate) and has turned into a soap opera...I pay it no heed.
If it could go back to the days of the "Missouri Mauler" then MAYBE I would watch it.

I don't know about the Missouri Mauler, but he sounds like a wrestler from the '50s. Is he? I have an interest in old-school and "realistic " wrestling. Sometimes I wish wrestling could be more of a shoot.

pro wrestlers are the most intellectually gifted athletes anywhere

here is former governor Jesse Ventura talking about his recent law suit which he won:

Ventura: Just Because She’s A Widow Doesn’t Mean She Can Profit From Slander « CBS Minnesota

when asked about Bush, he said Bush was the most inept president he's ever seen - how TRUE!

Bush wasn't great, but Obama is worse. I'm a minority within a minority of voters. I never voted for the guy and never looked back. Bush could have been better, could have been worse. Anyways, it just seems to me like President Obama is inept on purpose, which means he isn't incompetent. He looks to have an agenda at hand. All Presidents do, but I have a sixth sense that I did the right thing (sometimes) for him.

Anyway, on the topic of wrestling. There were times when I missed the Attitude Era on purpose. Some of it was lousy plus I like wrestling more when it is about the wrestling and what a wrestler can do not what they look like. Most of the females looked little like Trish Stratus (pretty girl, but not every girl has to be built like her to be considered attractive by guys).I only recall a few male wrestlers who look like John Cena and Randy Orton. There were Lex Luther and the Ultimate Warrior (RIP) for sure, but I grew up on fat guys, tall guys, short guys, muscular guys, etc. Most of the men and women that I grew up with looked more like the proverbial "ham and eggers" (to quote Bobby "The Brain" Heenan).
