I don't think its antisemitic. It's incorrect. The Jews just demanded rhat Jesus be killed. The Romans actually carried out the crucifixion. I mean its kind of a fine distinction since Jesus wouldn't have been in that position in the first place if it weren't for the Jews.

Peter acknowledged this himself.

Acts 2:22-23 ESV
[22] “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— [23] this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
I see no reasons to accept these claims about the trial, etc. as true.

Buechler said protesters had called for violence, expressed support for terrorism, and claimed they were members of Hamas, according to the Jerusalem Post. He also said protesters had expressed desires for future acts of violence to mirror the Oct. 7 attacks from Hamas against Israel.

Democratic Party leaders need to step forward and actively and forcefully start condemning attacks against any race or religion.
It should be noted that many of these protests were occurring right after Oct 7. Even before Israel responded militarily. The anti-Semitism is strong in theae people.

Only if you define it as anti-Zionism.

She was arrested for failing to disperse.

More than 100 individuals are currently occupying the South Lawn of Columbia University’s Morningside Heights campus. This group has been informed numerous times and in writing that they are not permitted to occupy this space, are in violation of the University’s rules and policies and must disperse. All University students participating in the encampment have been informed they are suspended. At this time, the participants in the encampment are not authorized to be on University property and are trespassing.

The University provided multiple notices and warnings and informed the encampment participants that they must disperse or face immediate discipline. We have also engaged on the issues they have raised and offered to have further discussions if they disperse.

I have determined that the encampment and related disruptions pose a clear and present danger to the substantial functioning of the University.

With great regret, we request the NYPD’s help to remove these individuals.

15 of the students arrested were Jewish.

Statement on Columbia University’s discriminatory and repressive treatment of Jewish students

Columbia University has actively created a hostile environment for students who are Palestinian or who support Palestinian freedom. Additionally, the administration’s actions have made the campus much less safe for Jewish students.

We condemn any and all hateful or violent comments targeting Jewish students; however, in shutting down public protest and suspending students, the actions of the University of Columbia are not ensuring safety for Jewish students — or any students — on campus.

Instead of listening to the calls of Columbia and Barnard students to divest from the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government, the university has called in the NYPD to arrest students, suspend them and even expel them. At present 85 students, 15 of whom are Jewish, are suspended.

Yesterday’s statement by the White House, like the administrators of Columbia University, dangerously and inaccurately presumes that all Jewish students support the Israeli government’s genocide of Palestinians. This assumption is actively harming Palestinian and Jewish students.

The students have been non-violent according to the NYPD.

Mayor Eric Adams confirmed in a Thursday evening press conference that the NYPD arrested over 108 protesters. Adams said that there was “no violence or injuries during the disturbance.”

Chief John Chell said that it was Shafik, not the NYPD, who identified the demonstration as a “clear and present danger.”

“To put this in perspective, the students that were arrested were peaceful, offered no resistance whatsoever, and were saying what they wanted to say in a peaceful manner,” Chell said at the conference.

Sounds like Colimbia and the police did everything right. Good for them!

Look!

Look at all the Free Speech Absolutists Run and hide!

Scattering like hypocritical tumbleweeds, forgetting that they actually LIKE free speech.

It's....I don't know, almost like they don't LIKE free speech.
Oh good grief, these were encampments in violation of the University policy and were trespassing after being advised to leave. This was not a free speech issue.

The issue was about "The Jews killing Jesus". The plausibility of the story it references is relevant.

What's plausible is that the sources by which you're applying the metrics of your own historical evaluative apparatus are, themselves, questionable. :sorry:

Better stick to Physics, Hans.

Nope plain anti-Semitism.
It may be, now that the situation is deteriorated so far, but it is interesting that Jews are protesting with them, and that the protests are also against US policies with regard to Israel--which are driven By Christian Zionism and which is anti-semitic to its core.

Of they were assaulting people, they should be arrested and prosecuted.
One of them is.

Edan On is one of two protestors/counterprotestors to be charged by the city. No other charges will be filed relating to events at UCLA or USC.

Most arrested during USC, UCLA Israel-Hamas war protests won’t be charged, L.A. city attorney says

The two suspects facing criminal charges were identified as Edan On and Matthew Katz.

On, a pro-Israel demonstrator, was charged with battery and assault with a deadly weapon and Katz was charged with battery, false imprisonment and resisting arrest, according to the city attorney’s office.
Katz' 'side' on the issue is unknown to me.

The issue is whether "The Jews killed Jesus" should be some sort of religious cut-out exception to apparent anti-semitism.

First, it wasn't "The Jews" that killed Jesus, but the Romans aided by the Jewish religious authorities (the Sanhedrin). Second, the whole bit with the Sanhedrin turning him over to the Romans for execution seems weird (why would the Romans do their bidding and not kill him themselves). Third, whole "trial before Pilate" is exceedingly unlikely and is an obvious theological construct about the nature of the sacrifice of Jesus. And finally, if even if "the blame" is placed on the Sanhedrin (and Judas), why is that a "bad" thing to Christians -- wasn't it needed to fulfill the planned sacrifice?

Blaming all Jews for the killing of Jesus (including with more explicit phases like "Christ killers") has a long history of use in othering, excluding, and persecuting Jews in Christendom.
Better stick to Physics, Hans.
All is physics.
