pride

God has recently made me very aware that my pride is getting in the way of what he wants me to be. Please pray that I can remove all self centeredness and pride in my life. This is a very difficult thing because in some ways in some places in my heart I am motivated to do so because of pride. Part of me thinks it is very important that I am looked at as a great christian. That I will leave a legacy and people will think wow Carl is such a great guy and Christian. But that is not what it is all about. Please pray that God will rid me of my pride and help me love him with all my being and love others as he has commanded me to do. Pray that God will help me loose myself and help me die so that HE may increase.

You have made the first step, because the Bible says to confess it to your Brethern. I think you are being helped already but I will add my prayer for you to be set free. (I struggle in this area too but the Lord began to show me the way to help me with mine was for me to reach out and help those in the area of my pride! It is working too, I'm getting excited about helping others succeed in the areas where I fought pride!) {{{hugs}}} Pray for me too Blackhawk, we will support one another!
