Pride vs Proud

Can someone please explain to me the difference between pride and being proud of someone??? It says we should not have pride and that "love is not proud" but I am often proud of Paul... surely that is okay because it is different? I don't know... I'm confused

Pride is not addmitting wrong, thinking you are perfect, not going to God or anyone else for help. Being Proud and being Proud of something or an accomplishment are two different words... to be proude... but to be proud of a fellow human for something they have done, or proud of yourself it good...

i think the sin of pride is thinking of yourself higher than you ought.

Being proud of yourself or anyone else is recognizing who you are. Perhaps it's more joy-based than selfish-based. It's rejoicing that brings people up with you intead of looking down at them....
