A movie was just released that shows the true story of how a Gay and Lesbian organization was raising money for the striking Miners who worked under unfair conditions and were harassed by the police. The group raised money to help feed and clothe the miners. The idea came to the leader when he saw the police harassment similar to what happened with the gay community in London, and the similar fight for rights. While the Miners were at first very resistant to the help simply because of who the group was, they soon learned that what they had in common was far more than their differences, and so they stood together in their fight. They soon saw each other as humans, rather than a separate group.

Regardless of your beliefs about homosexuality, the message is, shouldn't everyone be treated with respect and dignity? And shouldn't we all stand in unity with anyone who is oppressed?

There is a saying that unless all of us are free, none of us are.

pride goes before destruction. Yhwh said. Yhvh means what He says. it doesn't matter if someone likes them or even loves them or not, Yhvh has decreed the final judgment.
no prejudice in Him. same judgment for adulterers and fornicators(everyone who has sex outside of marriage). in each case, unless they turn from their sin, if Yhvh permits (some sin is a sin unto death, Yhvh knows which).

This reminds me of something I read a number of years ago. Strippers from a strip club held a car wash to raise money for breast cancer research. They wore bathing suits (no nudity) but they still attracted a large crowd of men who wanted to watch the strippers wash their cars. They raised lots of money which the cancer charity happily accepted. Yet there were ministers from a few right-wing churches who condemned the car ash and those who participated.

These days everything is a gay pride movie/show. They tie it in from everything from Glee to Pirates of the Caribbean.
