The division for me is based on His death in the Gospels being the event at the middle of the 70th week in Daniel:9. That would fulfill what Da:8 and 9 cover, that is everything to do with the bruise to the heel as found in Ge:3:15.
What is still future is Da:11 as that is the 42 months associated with Satan and the Beast from the Pit and their 42 months. (same length of time as 1/2 a block of 7 years)
The scattering in 70AD started a period of time known as 'the time of the Gentiles', Re:11 starts when there is 3 1/2 years (42 months) left of that same time. The 'gap' is so the Bible can be taken around the world.
Lu:21:24:
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword,
and shall be led away captive into all nations:
and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles,
until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Re:11:2:
But the court which is without the temple leave out,
and measure it not;
for it is given unto the Gentiles:
and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
M't:24:14-15:
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;
and then shall the end come.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation,
spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place,
(whoso readeth,
let him understand
Da:11:31:
And arms shall stand on his part,
and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength,
and shall take away the daily sacrifice,
and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
